A New Spin on the American Professional Telecaster Deluxe

Fender’s American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe puts a new spin on the hugely popular model, with upgrades aimed at the professional player. The iconic Tele Deluxe styling remains, but it benefits from a contoured neck heel and a redesigned 3-saddle bridge, which makes it easier than ever to get a clean setup with perfect intonation. Tim Shaw V-Mod II Double Tap humbuckers provide the fat sound you would expect from a Tele Deluxe, but they pull the wool off the top end, yielding a stunning hi-fi tone. The American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe also sports a satisfying Deep-C profile neck with Fender’s new “Super-Natural” satin finish. Guitarists at Sweetwater agree this may be the most comfortable Fender neck yet! Classic and contemporary, the Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe is a world-class axe primed to dominate the studio and the stage.

The new standard for professional instruments

After the wild success of the original American Professional Stratocaster, Fender's team of designers dedicated themselves to improving on the design. The resulting instrument, the American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe, features several improvements and upgrades that push the classic design to new heights. V-Mod II Double Tap humbuckers give you signature ‘bucker heft with a tasty top-end sparkle. The upgraded “cut” 3-saddle top-load/string-through bridge has a classic look with enhanced flexibility for setting individual string tension to achieve perfect intonation. Factor in the all-new "Super-Natural" neck finish, and the Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe sets the tone for what a professional-level instrument should look, sound, and feel like.

Upgraded pickups promote clarity

For the American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe, Fender's pickup guru, Tim Shaw, created a new breed of V-Mod humbucking pickups. Fittingly dubbed the V-Mod II Double Tap pickups, they deliver a hearty humbucking punch with enhanced clarity and articulation. The newest version of the American Professional also has an upgraded bridge pickup in the form of a Double Tap humbucker. Running it wide open yields a punchy tone with plenty of character. With the Push-Push tone knob, you can get realistic single-coil sounds. Whether you're keeping it clean or getting gritty, the Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe will sound right at home.

Custom Shop-influenced neck

The Deep-C neck profile that you'll find on the Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe solidbody electric guitar is a slight upgrade from the Fender American neck players have been in love with for years. By adding a touch more roundness to the back contour, the Deep-C carve fills your hand perfectly while never inhibiting your technique. For added playing comfort, the back of the neck is finished in Fender's "Super-Natural" satin finish, which feels fast and inviting. Your fingers will immediately notice how much control they have on the fretboard's Narrow Tall frets. For good reason, this fret wire is the most requested size at the Fender Custom Shop.

Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe Electric Guitar Features:

  • Updated and upgraded Telecaster Deluxe for the performing musician
  • V-Mod II Double Tap humbuckers pump out punchy tones
  • Push-Push tone knob yields a convincing single-coil effect
  • 3-saddle top-load/string-through bridge has a classic look with enhanced flexibility
  • Satin-finished maple neck feels fast and responsive
  • Deep-C neck profile sits securely in your hand
  • Contoured neck heel enhances comfort when playing in the upper register
  • Narrow Tall frets play effortlessly

TELECASTER DELUXE PRO II

without errors
The first thing I want to talk about is that it has a super clean sound, you can divide the Humbuckers in terms of volume and tone.
its color is divine and unique it is a turquoise the photos or the videos the color is not captured as it is, here I compare it with a boss ch-1 pedal
You can see it in the photo, the real color is unique; its neck is deep c super comfortable, one of the most comfortable I've ever played and soft,
its frets are well sanded rounded, the body is well painted and its gloss in terms of finish was great, with this guitar you can play Gospel, Jazz, rock, blues, R&b, grunge, whatever you want thanks to its versatility in terms of EQ, personally I fully recommend it. I have a fender stratocaster 70s headstock from the 60th anniversary USA it is great, I have a Fender American Pro USA one of the most beautiful sounds, I have a mustang Viniera 60s 75th anniversary, and a Harmony Juno color pearl jewels, but this Miami blue is heavenly. I liked it very much. I had to wait for the 55 inspection points and uff everything was fine. when it arrived in the caribbean I had to air-condition it due to the abrupt geographical change from Sweetwater to the Dominican Republic, since the heat is super tropical here but everything was super good I had to wait to open it.. whoa! And here I leave the photos. enjoy. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to play it and have this instrument, it has been a blessing, thanks to HIM.
grateful to my beloved friend Julio Jimenez, Quine always helps me in all this, he is the best in Sweetwater. I love him very much, he is special,
Greetings from Santo Domingo RD.

Best guitar I have ever owned

I am absolutely in love with this guitar. The neck is perfect for my tiny hands and with the finished maple neck I slide across it flawlessly. I have owned 7 different guitars, ranging from PRS, Jackson, and another Fender models, and this neck is by far the best I have ever played. There is just something about the satin deep c neck I have fallen in love with.

The pick ups are perfect for what they are designed to do! The wide range dual tapped pick ups are what I would describe as the perfect blend between a single coil and humbucker pick up. The single coils aren't a "true" single coil but do a fantastic job producing a single coil sound. I have owned a coil split guitar before and this is the best single coil from a coil split I have ever heard. The humbuckers aren't "true" humbucking either, but don't worry! All you need is a good overdrive pedal and boost your amps bass and you will have some really nice humbucking warmth. The biggest surprise was the clarity of the mid range tones, which I guess makes sense for a low output wide range pick up. I get some of the most crystal clear mids I have ever heard out of my set up. I think some reviews are harsh on the pick ups because they don't meet expectations on what the player was hoping for, but for me, this guitar does exactly what it was built to do.

There are 2 cons I have with this guitar:
The bridge is a little suspect, I'm not super fond of having two strings on the same piece. I have read that intonation has effected some other models, I have yet to have issues but that is a complaint I have seen 2 or 3 times.

My other con is no locking tuners, the guitar stays in tune VERY well, so this con is minuscule, but I think for $... locking tuners should be included, especially in 2021.

What's lovely about my cons is that both are replaceable!

With all of that said, I am more than pleased with this instrument. I think all musicians will never have the "perfect" guitar, but with the smooth neck, versatility, sound, and feel this guitar brings to the table, it's pretty dang close to perfect for me.

Wanted to love it.....

Let's face it, this guitar is beautiful and who doesn't love a Tele. I had to send this back tho, I HATED the bridge and did not want to deal with swapping it out; this caliber instrument should come rock solid. I can't believe Fender installed the bridge and thought "this is the best we can offer". Anyways, the PUPs sounded great, loved the neck, and the weight/color was perfect. I have way too many guitars to throw money on upgrades I shouldn't need to do. I'm glad others love this guitar, but for me - it came all so close!! Sweetwater made the return easy and are always a pleasure to deal with. Rock on!!

American Made Delight

I've long been a fan of the Tele Deluxe after having a MIM 72' for several years. I recently bought one of the 2021 Miami Blue and it came with a rosewood fretboard (likely a mistake at the factory). Nonetheless, it is amazing. It's the first American Fender I've ever purchased...there is a difference. I'm a big fan of the Shawbuckers and the coil splitting gives plenty of tonal variety. The Tele Deluxe is it's own guitar, don't expect pure Strat or even Tele sounds (you'll get really close) but I love how this plays, feels and sounds from clean to dirty.

The guitar was perfectly set up, intonated and in tune out of the box.

There was a small finish imperfection but I decided not to fret since I've already played this baby live. The brass barrel saddles do allow great intonation and height adjustment, but I've already had a couple strings sliced off (I tend to have a heavy hand). I may nee to give them a slight sanding to ever-so-gently curve off the hard edge.

The frets are tall for a Fender and take some getting used to but are great for bending and encourage lighter chording. the fretboard is soft and rounded.

I did swap out the old style Tele input jack for a solid electro-socket.

It’s impossible to imagine a world without Fender guitars, and if you’re like many of the guitarists at Sweetwater, then Fender not only made the first guitar you ever bought " they made the last one too! From building the first mass-produced solidbody electric guitars and basses in the 1950s to creating some of the most influential amplifier designs in history, it’s no wonder why Fender is one of the biggest names in the business. As one of the world’s largest Fender dealers, we have countless guitars, basses, amps, effects pedals, and accessories in stock and ready to ship, whenever you need them. We’re always getting our hands on their latest creations, and there’s nothing we love more than to tell our customers all about them!
