Celebrates Leo Fender's Bold, Revolutionary Tele

The limited-edition 75th Anniversary Telecaster celebrates Leo Fender's bold, revolutionary solidbody electric guitar. This exceptional instrument was built from a balanced-sounding body of alder, and its satin-finished Modern "C"-shaped neck and 9.5-inch-radius fingerboard make for an enjoyable playing experience. Crank up your favorite amp, and revel in the snarling twang that Telecasters are famous for, thanks to Tim Shaw-designed pickups Vintera '50s Tele pickups. Rock-solid vintage-style tuners and a modern, 6-saddle string-through-body bridge designate the 75th Anniversary Tele as a road-worthy instrument. This head-turning Telecaster features a light-catching gloss polyester finish and a matching headstock. An exclusive engraved 75th anniversary neck plate rounds out this collectible, limited-edition Tele.

Fast-playing Modern "C"-shaped maple neck

Leo Fender wasn't a guitar player. In fact, he got his start repairing radios. When designing his original instruments, he had no idea that guitars weren't supposed to have maple necks. The 75th Anniversary Telecaster has the revered maple neck and a tried-and-true maple fingerboard, supplying you with a snappy feel and clear-as-a-bell sound. In keeping with contemporary tastes, the 75th Anniversary Tele ports a Player Series-derived Modern "C"-shaped maple neck and a 9.5-inch-radius fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. The neck is finished with a smooth satin urethane for a sleek, fast feel — a feature that the guitarists here at Sweetwater wholeheartedly appreciate.

Tim Shaw-designed pickups for vintage-style Tele twang

Twangy and articulate, the Fender 75th Anniversary Telecaster comes armed with a killer set of vintage-style, Tim Shaw-designed Vintera '50s single-coil Telecaster pickups. These pickups boast Alnico II and III magnets, Formvar-coated wire, and staggered beveled pole pieces — everything you need to reproduce the crisp, snarling sound that made the original Tele so versatile. Whether you're looking for the upper-end spank of modern country or the low-end growl that made the Telecaster a viable rock axe, this guitar delivers.

The Fender Telecaster: a brief history

This is it: the original guitar that started Fender's march into contemporary music history. First named the Broadcaster, it appeared in the early 1950s. The ingeniously simple design, the bolt-on neck, and the ash body all contribute to the guitar's trademark tones and player-friendly feel. From Nashville twang to blistering rock tones, the Telecaster sound has made its presence felt in nearly every musical genre. The diverse list of Telecaster players — including Muddy Waters, Keith Richards, James Burton, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, and John 5 — attests to the guitar's universal appeal.

Fender 75th Anniversary Telecaster Features:
