Handmade Pickup with Classic PAF Character

Looking for a vintage-voiced humbucker with a brighter, compressed sound? Check out the Seymour Duncan 59 Trembucker pickup. Based on classic PAF pickups from the '50s, the 59 Trembucker bridge pickup is hand-built with an alnico V bar magnet, nickel-silver bottom plate, and four-conductor wiring to accommodate multiple wiring options. Trembucker pickups feature wider pole piece spacing for optimal positioning on guitars with a tremolo or wide-spaced hardtail bridge. Not sure if the Seymour Duncan 59 Trembucker pickup is right for you and your guitar? Call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer anytime and we'll be happy to advise.

Seymour Duncan 59 Trembucker Humbucking Pickup Features:

  • Vintage-voiced humbucker for electric guitar, bridge position
  • Airy character with bright highs and compressed sound
  • Wax potted for squeal-free performance
  • Alnico V bar magnet with nickel-silver bottom plate
  • 4-conductor wire accommodates a wide range of wiring schemes

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Best PAF For Me

Bright, full, sustains, harmonics. This has it all at a low output. Gives a clear sound but still enough output to drive the front end of whatever its going into.
Compared to ALL other pickup manufacturers, I always 1) Return to my Seymour Duncan collection. and 2) The '59
I enjoy all types of pickups and magnet/output levels, but always feel like I return home when I use it.
Loved the PAF Pro by DiMarzio for years, still has its place, but the '59 has more upper harmonics that if used properly, will yield a wide range of tone
Music background: Hard rock, progressive, fusion, jazz, classical

Thank you DEVIN CUNNINGHAM!

Seth Lover style pickup but potted and with alnico 5 magnets. A bit more aggressive than a Seth lover with (ALNICO 2) and not as bright.
Music background: MA Guitar performance.

A Classic for a Reason

Over the years, I have A/B'd '59s against a bunch of other pickups, including quite a few venerated boutiques, and I keep coming back to good old SH-1s. I'm a single coil guy at heart, and the '59s sparkling presence and relative tonal balance hits me in just the right way. They are scooped compared to a lot of other PAF-style pickups, though they still have a lot of mids compared to single coils. They are not too high output but they can growl, too. I paired this Trembucker with SSL-1s in my HSS partscaster and it's pretty much perfect.

Lives up to the hype

This is the humbucker for people who don't like humbuckers. People who think humbuckers are dull, nasally, and overly middy. People like me! This humbucker is sparkly, balanced, and low enough output to mix with single coils. Perfect for an HSS Strat. I also have a non-Trembucker version in a HH guitar that also sounds amazing. The '59 is definitely one of the all-time greats.

My Favorite Pickup!

I've installed this pickup in all of my guitars and It sounds fantastic in anything from a Strat to an SG. Offers plenty of Clarity in the highs while still having a nice growl in the Lows. Highly Recommend!
