The Synchron Percussion Bundle
Produce stunning percussive orchestrations like you've never heard before with the Vienna Symphonic Library Synchron Percussion Bundle featuring Synchron Percussion I, II, III, and Synchron Power Drums. Orchestrations come to life with gorgeous organic qualities and engaging animation. From movie soundtracks to Latin, classical, rock, and all effects in between, the Synchron Bundle has all the percussion you can dream of and more. These detailed, meticulously sampled instruments have blown minds (and ears) at Sweetwater, and they'll have the same effect on you! The performances for Synchron Percussion I, II, and III were recorded in stereo using a Decca tree; additional mic arrays were employed for 5.1 surround and Auro 3D 9.1 formats. A total of 12 microphones were used to record each instrument; you can select up to seven of them and mix to taste. Synchron Stage Vienna's finely tuned presets preserve all the sonic character and natural volume envelopes of the instruments and serve as excellent starting points for your orchestrations.

Synchron Percussion I
Synchron Percussion I is the first Vienna Symphonic Library project to be recorded on the remodeled Synchron Stage Vienna. Meticulously sampled in the flawless, state-of-the-art acoustics of Stage A, this tour-de-force orchestral percussion library captures every nuance with an expansive, phase-regulated multi-mic setup, giving you all the character and vibe of the world's finest percussion instruments, masterfully played on one of the world's premier scoring stages. VSL Synchron Percussion I fortifies your orchestral percussion arsenal with 16 must-have instruments from leading manufacturers including Adams, Bergerault, Kolberg, Lefima, Meinl, Yamaha, and Zildjian.

Synchron Percussion II
As the second installment of Synchron Percussion, these recordings add a percussive decadence to your arsenal, including timpani, taikos, gongs, and a vibraphone, as well as bells, thunder sheets, anvils, a wind machine, and more! Always keeping a close eye on detail, VSL recorded the Synchron Percussion series with multiple articulations for each stroke; velocity layers, round robins, rolls, and effects all play a role in formulating software that provides you with organic, exquisitely sampled instruments from a world-class stage.
Synchron Percussion III
The third and final installment of Synchron Percussion, III offers a wide array of timpani, bass drums, cymbals, snares, as well as percussive instruments for the finer details like jingle bells, bird calls, cow bells, and wind chimes. These instruments were all sampled meticulously and recorded in stereo using a Decca tree and with additional mics for 5.1 surround and Auto 3D 9.1 formats. And for Synchron Percussion III, VSL added incredible ensemble packs from their Big Bang Orchestra series Dorado, Eridanus, and Fornax! Synchron Stage Vienna's finely tuned presets preserve all the sonic character and natural volume envelopes of the instruments and serve as excellent starting points for your orchestrations.

Synchron Power Drums
The drum kit is the foundation of groove. Put three kits together in the impeccable, world-class acoustics of the main hall of Vienna Symphonic Library's Synchron Stage Vienna, and you get an explosion of pounding energy. That’s the concept behind Synchron Power Drums: hard-hitting, energetic drum grooves played simultaneously on three independent — yet interactive — drum kits. The sound will take your music to the highest levels of intensity. Because a TAMA Star (2017) kit was recorded in situ between TAMA Superstar (1972) and Sonor Acryl Champion Vintage (1975) kits on the soundstage, you're given the option of using these drum sets individually or all together, both in their recorded positions or in a centered position. All three kits represent the diverse sonic properties of different recording eras to give you a wide variety of sounds.
Immersive Sound and Auro 3D
The Full Library version of Synchron Percussion III includes immersive audio technology that delivers a three-dimensional listening experience. A development of Belgian company Auro Technologies, Auro 3D is based on a spacial configuration of nine loudspeakers plus an LFE channel. To a standard 5.1 surround setup, four additional ("height layer") speakers are situated above the L/R front and surround speakers to generate acoustic reflections that are perceived naturally from above the listener. Synchron Percussion III (Full Library) offers a selection of discrete audio channels, letting you mix your instruments in Auro 3D — as well as Dolby Atmos — formats.

The world-class Big Bang Orchestra
But the sonic decadence doesn't stop there! With Synchron Percussion III, Viena Symphony Library has added expertly sampled ensembles from their famous Big Bang Orchestra Fornax, Dorado, and Eridanus. You can craft a mix with up to six musicians playing together to craft a well-balanced ensemble that'll add freshness with its gorgeously blended sound.

Using the recording studio as an instrument
Synchron Stage Vienna, located on Vienna's historic Wiener Rosenhuegel, can accommodate a 130 piece orchestra and has proven its mettle over the decades not only for film score recording, but also for sampling sessions. With its massive concrete foundation, room-in-room construction, sound insulation, and specially designed HVAC system, the studio boasts a ludicrously low noise-floor of 16dBA, even with the air conditioning running. Stage A sports a reverb time of 1.8 seconds — and unlike many other scoring stages, there is no low-frequency masking effect.
Instruments sound warm and punchy, with superior depth and panoramic localization. The room itself is an extraordinary instrument, especially at low-to-medium SPLs. This is stunningly evident on the bass drum, where the very low frequencies are exquisitely harnessed; first with the drum in its normal tuning, then loosened to capture the thunderous lows reverberating throughout the hall. A Sweetwater tip is in order here: these ultra-low frequencies could potentially damage your speakers, so be mindful of your monitor levels!
