Incredible dual-stage sampling
Synchron Duality Strings presents you with incredibly versatile VI orchestral palettes, and the proof is in the name! Now, with two separate ensembles at your disposal, there are twice as many opportunities for your musical creativity to reach new heights. Vienna Symphonic Library simultaneously recorded two individual string ensembles of Vienna’s most esteemed string players for Synchron Duality Strings: a large ensemble on Stage A in the main hall and a small ensemble on Stage B. The dichotomous results laid the foundation for a new dimensionality in VI orchestration.
Stage A’s result presented a larger, more grandiose symphonic effect, while the smaller and drier Stage B is accompanied by a more transparent and intimate sound courtesy of dual microphone sets used for recording. Both ensembles, however, were captured in perfectly synchronized volume, timbre, note length, and so forth, allowing for a mesmerizingly characterful stereo response. With Synchron Duality Strings, you can balance the two ensembles to your liking by way of completely organic mixing presets or work singularly with the ensemble that best suits the needs of your project.

Compose with freedom, not fixed patterns
Aptly named, Vienna Symphonic Library Synchron Duality Strings (Ostinato) was crafted specifically to deliver truly captivating string ostinatos. For this library, both ensembles — the larger section in Stage A and the more focused group in Stage B — were captured performing extensive ostinato passages in perfect synchrony. From these recordings, individual notes were meticulously extracted and are now reassembled in real time by the Vienna Synchron Player, ensuring seamless transitions, natural variation, and a realism that feels performed rather than programmed. Moreover, because you’re working with single notes instead of rigid patterns or locked tempos, every rhythm, tempo, and contour is entirely under your control. With short notes, long notes, and expressive legatos at your fingertips, Synchron Duality Strings (Ostinato) allows you to go far beyond ostinatos, creating everything from driving rhythmic engines to soaring, lyrical string lines. Simply put, Sweetwater studiophiles have scarcely seen an orchestral VI with as much creative freedom as Synchron Duality Strings!
