The Revered Symph EQ Is Now a Plug-in!
The Stereo Asymptotic Equalizer, better known as the Symph EQ, is effectively a modern take on the Baxandall equalizer that has dominated non-parametric EQ applications since the 1950s. It features pristine emulations of both the Carnhill Oxford input and the Carnhill St. Ives output transformers and has an open, natural sound that sweetens anything passing through it. Sweetwater studio engineers are particularly fond of the Heritage Audio Symph EQ plug-in's mid-side processing capabilities, which they've used to tighten up kick and snare drums, add focus to vocals, widen a piano's stereo image without affecting the center, and much more.

How does it work?
The Symph EQ's technical name is the Stereo Asymptotic Equalizer. This name is derived from its shelf curve shapes: the boost or cut amplitude grows until the asymptotic value is reached. In practical terms, this means that your extreme highs and lows will always be tightly controlled. The Symph EQ plug-in is a musical and enjoyable way to EQ instruments or entire mixes without introducing low-end mud or high-end harshness.
