An Eye-popping Addition to Fender’s Rarities Series

The Fender Rarities Flame Koa Top Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar is an eye-popping visual feast with classic Fender tone. Everything is centered around an ash Strat body; but scope out this guitar’s flamed koa top, and you’ll quickly realize that this isn’t your typical Stratocaster. It doesn’t sound like an off-the-shelf Strat, either. Plug this bad boy in, and you’ll spend hours exploring the sonic combinations possible from two Hot ’59 Strat single-coil pickups plus a Tim Shaw-designed humbucking pickup (with a cool Filter'Tron cover, no less). And it plays like a dream — its quartersawn European maple neck and fretboard feature a comfortable, Modern “C” shape and easy-playing 9.5" radius. If you’re looking for a Strat that sets itself apart from all the others, look to the Fender Rarities Flame Koa Top Stratocaster.

Top-shelf woods offer premium tone and looks

The Fender Rarities Series Flame Koa Top Stratocaster is built from premium woods. Its ash body is topped with eye-popping flamed koa, a gorgeous departure from the grain of alder or ash. Its quartersawn maple neck and fretboard offer exquisite playability, with a satin finish on the back of the neck for a fast, fluid playing feel. The Flame Koa Top Strat’s gloss polyurethane finish adds a dazzling shine to its visually stunning appearance.

Hot ’59 pickups plus a special, Tim Shaw-designed humbucker

The Rarities Flame Koa Top Strat is loaded with Hot ’59 Strat single-coil pickups with gold foil covers in the neck and middle positions. Wound hotter than vintage-style pickups, you’ll hit your amp with a lively, punchy tone with plenty of midrange richness. The Tim Shaw-designed pickup in the bridge position delivers epic lead tones without icepick harshness, and is topped with a cool Filter'Tron pickup cover.

Fender Rarities Series — a new boutique-style guitar every month

Starting in April of 2019, Fender will release a new boutique-style guitar each month. Dubbed the “Fender Rarities Series,” these guitars feature premium woods, quilted maple tops, f-holes, high-end electronics, and all kinds of eye-popping finishes. The Rarities Series includes various Telecasters, Stratocasters, and a Jazz Bass — a total of nine instruments in all. The guitarists here at Sweetwater are digging the uniqueness of these guitars, and we know our customers will, too. They’re only available in limited quantities, so act fast if you want to add one to your collection.
