This special prototype Fender American Standard Stratocaster sports three Custom Shop Fat 50s single-coil pickups, an amazing value on a guitar at this price. Normally only used on Fender's top-line Custom Shop guitars, these pickups put out the essence of classic Fender tone. Cleans are bright and clear, the midrange has bite, and you can take your tube amplifier from mellow to raging simply with your volume control.
Greasebucket tone circuit = no more mudHave you noticed how your note definition can suffer when you roll your tone knob back? Of course there are lots of tone circuit designs out there, but the Greasebucket tone circuit in the American Standard Stratocaster lets you roll off highs without adding low frequencies. That means you can get mellow, subdued tones without your tone getting muddy and indistinct. Hey, we know many players never touch their tone control - but maybe that's because they don't have the Greasebucket tone circuit.
