An S-1 switch selects the outer coil of the humbucker for great single-coil tones. The alder body, C-shaped solid maple neck, and maple fingerboard also contribute to this guitar's tone and easy playability. The Fender Deluxe Lone Star Strat delivers a lot of bang for the buck. You start with that classic custom-contoured Strat body with all its sleek lines. The solid alder body sports a trio of toneful pickups that cover everything from soft and smooth to dirty and raunchy. You can bend notes or entire chords up or down with the vintage-style synchronized tremolo unit, but you'll always stay in tune, thanks to the ageless Leo Fender design.
The trademark Strat sound - plus!The original Strat had three single-coil pickups, so it was able to produce sounds that no other guitar could deliver. The Lone Star Strat ships with a pair of Texas Special single-coils and a Twin Head humbucker. But that's not all! The S-1 switch adds a special push button on the volume control that switches the bridge pickup to just the outer coil for authentic single-coil sound, giving the Lone Star Strat seven possible pickup combinations.
Fast-playing maple neckLeo Fender wasn't afraid to think outside the box when it came to guitar designs. After all, he was an engineer, not a guitar player. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blonde natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. The Deluxe Lone Star Strat comes with a 1-piece maple neck and fingerboard with a modern "C" shape and a 9.5" radius for super-smooth licks, runs, and arpeggios. In keeping with contemporary player preferences, the fast-playing neck is finished in a gloss polyurethane.
