Stellar Strat Tone Plus Two Finishes for the Price of One
Boasting arguably the most eye-catching of all Fender’s golden-age finishes, this Custom Shop '60s Heavy Relic Stratocaster’s looks are sure to impress. And then there's the tone! An extremely resonant roasted alder body is paired with a rift-sawn Maple ‘60s oval “C” neck and AAA Rosewood fingerboard for maximum stability, with a modern 9.5-inch radius fingerboard providing comfort that belies this guitar’s pure vintage looks. Three Custom Shop hand-wound '60s Stratocaster pickups produce all the crystalline highs and round bass tones you’d expect from a vintage Strat; plus, the reverse-wound middle pickup kills the hum in positions 2 and 4 while delivering that unmistakable Strat quack. Aged to perfection for vintage looks and worn to provide that played-in feel from day one, this Strat is guaranteed to make you stand out from the crowd!

Amazing Olympic white over sunburst finish
Sunburst has always been a standard finish for Fender. However, when players began to demand more eye-catching colors in the late '50s, Leo Fender found it was often more cost-effective to mass-produce sunburst bodies and then respray a new color over the top. Many players were surprised when — after a few years of rough playing — the thin nitrocellulose finish’s outer coat began to wear, revealing a beautiful sunburst beneath it. This Strat’s double finish is a nod to one of the most idiosyncratic and desired qualities of Fender’s golden-age-era guitars!
Rift-sawn maple neck
Many guitarists are familiar with the benefits of quarter-sawn wood — namely that it offers far greater dimensional stability than an equivalent flat-sawn neck. However, there is a method that many players find even more rock solid: rift sawing. As the least-efficient and most-expensive method of cutting wood, rift sawing is not frequently found in the world of guitars, but it’s among the best ways to produce an unyielding neck that stays straight under even the most challenging conditions.
Custom Shop hand-wound '60s pickups
The Custom Shop’s hand-wound pickups are incredible, but they still manage to exceed the expectations of guitarists at Sweetwater every time! This guitar’s trio of Custom Shop hand-wound ‘60s pickups are voiced to sound just like a vintage Strat, producing bell-like highs, a robust midrange, and a big bottom end that doesn’t just replicate the past, but improves upon it. Pick up this beauty and hear it for yourself!
