Sound Particles SkyDust 3D is an inspiring polyphonic synth virtual instrument with full 3D audio support, offering you an incredible gateway to mind-bending spatial effects. Jam-packed with an array of oscillators, an arpeggiator, FM synthesis, filters, and pitch effects, SkyDust 3D is a powerful soft synth in its own right, But, when you factor in Sound Particles' 3D engine, it becomes truly groundbreaking. Want to use MIDI aftertouch to control a note's 3D position? Use an LFO to change a note's elevation? Create erratic arpeggios that fly around the soundfield? This virtual instrument plug-in can do all that and more. With Sound Particles SkyDust 3D, immersive audio will become your creative playground.

Full 3D audio support

Thanks to SkyDust 3D's incorporation of Sound Particles' 3D engine, you can play a note and get instant three-dimensional spatial effects. A feature-packed soft synth

Here at Sweetwater, we're blown away by Sound Particles SkyDust 3D — it's chock-full of features. For starters, you get eight oscillators, each with a 3D position per note. Reviews

Amazing concepts lacking the "WOW" in the presentation
I was completely intrigued by the concepts presented in this software and the functionality and GUI do a good job of supporting these concepts. The presentation of the included presets doesn't quite capture the full essence of the software's potential.
CPU Hog in Ambisonics mode!
I really like Sky Dust 3D and the flexibility it offers. It is in a league by itself with what it can do. And I found it fairly easy to work with, but definitely watch videos showing the operation as it does have a learning curve. BUT it is really a monster CPU hog running in Ambisonics mode. I have a new machine running 12 core CPU with 64 G of ram, and I don't have enough computing power to even use all the presets in 3rd order Ambisonics. Turning off oscillators helps, but not nearly enough. Now I would expect CPU demand to be higher in ambisonics, but I wasn't prepared for the hit. I anticipated something like Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 which I can easily handle. Scaling back to stereo doesn't present any CPU problems though.
