A Capo with Rock-solid Intonation

The Shubb C1b Original capo eschews the contoured lever of their Standard and Deluxe models, instead employing the classic Shubb design that’s been all the rage for more than three decades. This capo’s patented over-center locking action ensures smooth operation and unrivaled ease of use. Its soft rubber pad works like a fingertip, while its closing action is engineered like your hand, so the capo doesn’t pull your guitar’s strings off center — no retuning necessary. The Original Shubb capo is made of plain, non-plated brass, giving it a vintage, rustic-like appearance. That said, if you polish it, it shines like gold. Small, stylish, and unobtrusive, the Shubb C1b is tailor-made for steel-string acoustic and electric guitars.

Engineered to work like the human hand

Most capos muck with your intonation — you have to retune your instrument every time you install one. That’s because fingerboards are made for fingers, not capos. But, thanks to Shubb, this is no longer a problem. Shubb capos employ a soft rubber pad that works like your fingertip. Consequently, they don’t forcefully bend your instrument’s strings over its frets. Likewise, the capo’s closing action is similar to that of your hand, so it doesn’t pull your strings off center. This eliminates the need to retune your instrument after installing the capo. What’s more, Shubb capos are a breeze to use — one flip of a lever locks it securely in place and removes it just as easily. Fast, easy installation and rock-solid intonation — what more could you ask for? These capos have remained popular for nearly 40 years — many guitarists here at Sweetwater swear by them. Try one, and you’ll understand why.

Shubb's C1b model fits most steel-string acoustic and electric guitars.

The best

I can't speak for the more expensive capos but I can't understand how they could be that much better than the Shubb C1b. The intonation is usually darn near perfect without any tuning, the notes are so much clearer in terms of buzzing (there is none), so for the price - why fight it? There is nothing else in the ballpark with this capo. I've been using Shubbs for at least 15 years and have been totally satisfied.

Old Reliable

After trying other spring capos the Shubb is is my choice. The adjustable pinch and thin footprint is superb.

Just got it today

I have used the D'addario and Kyser Capo's for years. I always felt like I was losing some of my tone and sustain when using a capo. Reading in n acoustic guitar forum one day I kept seeing praise for shubb. Finally ordered one today along with a few other things I needed and I'm very happy with it! It just feels like a quality tool when you hold it. It's very smooth when installing onto the neck and fretboard. I compared it side-by-side with the other two that I've been using oh, and the shub really helps to maintain the tone of my guitar without losing sustain.

Simply the best

This is the way to go. Small, simple, brilliantly designed. I got one of these when they first came out and it still works perfectly. I truly believe these are superior to all other designs. I use mine on a variety of guitars, including 12-strings and it always comes through for me.
