For all you rock stars.

I have been playing Celestia speakers for my whole adult life. I'm 76 years old. My friend just bought a Cream back 65. As the reviews were knocking my celestian this wonderful speaker. For all the geniusouses out there I have news for y'all. We both have the same amp head. Marshall DSL 20/10. This speaker is awesome. We dialed in both amps to test the difference of both speakers. Well, this speaker has different nuance's for sure. I'll keep this one anyway. It blew the creamback out the door. Yes, the creamback is a great speaker. Stay with this one. I was professional and played the Garden and all over the country. Had so many great Marshalls and other amps. I have hit records. When I record I use many different amps and speaker combinations. Don't let the reviews of this one throw you.

Music background: You name it I've done it. Country, Rock, Jazz, Blues ,Slide.. etc.

Great Product for the price and quality

This speaker is detailed and crisply defined, with a tightly controlled low end. It is punchy, and aggressive. It pairs well with EMG and Fluence Fishman Pick-ups. Brings balance without being muddy. Great for your half-stack or practice amp.

Quality piece of equipment

I filled my halfstack with these and it sounds good. The weight of each speaker is light which makes my half stack way lighter. I play through a EVH 100 watt head and I can get Rock, Metal, Blues and clean tones easily. Its not as dark as a lot of speakers, but does have a great tight bass response.

Nice speaker

I bought this speaker to replace the stock 12" speaker that came with my Blackstar HT5R MkII. I love the sound of the amp, but the stock speaker broke up too soon and sounded flubby, even just at the edge of breakup. However, I was concerned about changing the character of the amp. I listened to samples of Jensen and Eminence speakers, which confused me to no end. I saw that Blackstar uses the Seventy 80 in a number of their larger combos, so I went with that. It was the right decision and solved the issue without changing the sound of the amp. Break-in only took a few hours of playing and all is good. Plus, you can't beat Sweetwater's service.

sounds perfect!

i recently purchased a jim root terror and peavey 1x12 vypyr speaker cab...i'm on a budget so i bought the head used and i chose the vypyr because it was cheap and had the look i want..when i tried it i was really dissapointed..i knew it was the speaker..so i immediately ordered a seventy 80..then the next morning i decided to check online to see some reviews...from what everyone was saying...i wasn't getting much of an upgrade..it came and i installed it immediately..the difference is like going from black and white to vivid color! it does exactly what celestion says it does! do not listen to these fools online!
