A Unique Concept in Digital Pianos

The Crumar Seven is a new concept in digital pianos. Built into a vintage-style solid wooden case with a focus on vintage electric piano sounds, the Seven is powered by eight physical modeled synthesis engines that include tine and reed electric pianos, electric baby grand, clavinet, acoustic piano, and more. For instant inspiration, call up any of the factory presets, season to taste with onboard effects that include reverb, 3-band EQ, and amp simulation — and start groovin'. You'll savor the expressive feel of the Seven's 73-note hammer-action keybed and included sustain pedal. With its classic visuals and sounds, the Crumar Seven has wowed keyboardists here at Sweetwater. We think you'll be impressed.

A friend for life.

I spent about two months of intense research looking for a new keys rig after Mainstage rig crashed, yet again during one of my shows. I was using an Arturia Keylab Essential with Mainstage and although I love the workflow, unfortunately that set up was/is unstable. So I set out to find an all in one option. For me it came down to the Kong SV2 or the Seven. After watching many reviews and demos on YouTube, I decided to pull the trigger on the Crumar. I was a little concerned with how the action would feel under hand as it was widely seen as a "con" but I was pleased to find that although it is heavy as stated, the keys feel nice and I don't seem to notice the heaviness when playing. Note that I am coming off of playing synth action. What sold me in the end was the stark difference (in my opinion) of sound quality. The Seven just sounds way better than it's competition. The quality of build is great as well. I also like that it is a very meat and potatoes kind of rig. Just the sounds that most of us need to get through a show. It's refreshing to not have to surf through a huge library of sounds and try to learn yet another interface. Everything is right in front of you, no menu. It's easy and super intuitive. I really think that my search for a piano rig is over. I can't see a scenario in which I will replace the Seven. It's a friend for life kind of piano. If the Seven is on your list of contenders, I would advise you to just forget the others and buy it! You will not be sorry! Thanks to Nathan Kelch and the Sweetwater staff for being awesome. It's the only place I trust.

Crumar Seven

I've long been searching for a digital piano that captures the sound of a vintage Rhodes with good feel and responsiveness. For me, the Crumar Seven has ended my search. I have 3 other digital pianos from reputable brands and the Crumar Seven blows them away with regard to classic EP sounds. I realize there have been mixed reviews on the action of the key bed but for me the feel is more than adequate. What I love about this MODELED digital is the responsiveness in how you play. Hitting the keys heavily or playing softly, this piano responds and emulates sound and how your fingers hit or grace the keys better than any digital piano I've ever played. I know there have been negative reviews about the acoustic piano sound as well, but I believe with the proper amount of fine tuning you can get close to what you are looking for. What I think you have to remember is that the Crumar Seven produces the sounds of the classic EPs of the 70s and 80s. That is where it truly excels. In my opinion the DX EP setting brings you back to the ballads of the 80s created with that signature Yamaha DX7 sound ! But again, it's the tine piano Rhodes re creation that sold me in the two to three weeks of research and reviews listening to videos and reading comments from users. Thank you to Drew Foster who has always made purchasing from Sweetwater so easy. Drew informed me that shipping would most likely be delayed due to our current situation, and I was more than happy to wait a week or two. He finalized my sale on Thursday 4/23 and the Crumar was at my door Monday 4/27 ! Thank you Drew and thank you Sweetwater !

Nostalgia on your fingertips

What can I say that hasn’t been said before?
About 1 ½ year ago I purchased the Seven.
I was close to get a Rebuild Fender Rhodes Suitcase.
But they have a reputation of breaking down.
Needles to say all the sounds you get with the Seven brings you back to a time when music was music.
Rhodes spot on. Wurlitzer spot on. The Clavi is a dream add wha wha and you have the sound from Seve Wonder. The famous electric piano Sound from the DX7, or the MX. The real piano needed some work but Crumar constantly upgrades and it is free. You can also create your own sound and save it to three push buttons on each instrument. The first is always the original. So total of four saved sounds on every instrument. I also love that there are nine engines in that baby. The light buttons are a clever way for live playing on the fly adjustment.
With Sweetwater tech support for two years and great customer help from Crumar you can’t go wrong. Just love it. I build my own Keyboard Risers for quick setups
So I don’t use the legs. But I used them for two weeks and it is sturdy and sexy. But I like my Rig better. Just roll out from Studio into trailer and on to stage. I actually to not remove the Nord or the Seven. I’m old and do not have the back for it any more
