Awesome must have!

I love the tone and response of this module. I also have the SLO and Plexi, which are great in their own right.
There is a night-and-day quality to this module that I REALLY like! The blue channel is very sparkly clean and rich. Comparable to my Roland JC amp. That actually impressed me most of all. It sounds even cleaner and brighter than my T/Dlx module.
The red channel has an overabundance of gain on tap, and it definitely has that low-mid tonal emphasis that defines the Vai sound. Ideal for playing higher notes without ear fatigue. Use the Boost and Bright switches to expand the tonal palate even more.

Like others, I am less enthused about the detents in the motion of the knobs. There is a fairly large leap in volume in the lower ranges, making it difficult to dial in the perfect volume. Would've much rather had the smooth knobs like the other modules.

I would like to see Synergy come out with more signature modules.

Awesome clean crunch tones a lot of gain on gain side

This is my 3rd module also having the Fryette Ultra Lead and Bogner Ecstasy which are both really great sounding. The "Signature" Vai has an amazing clean channel which is quite versatile in adjustment and as a pedal platform. The high gain is unique and has a different voicing than most. It was not as heavy distorted I think as some others are or what I hear a lot in demos, of course one can never be sure of what they are doing to their sounds in post production or add-ons but this is certainly one of Synergy's best. I don't play in Vai's style or know much of his stuff but the combination of a great clean and articulate high gain is a welcome set in the Synergy system I am building. It is a fun module to play and I find myself as enamored with the clean channel as the high gain. Adding delay/reverb as well as mixing drives or octave stuff is a real treat. Paired with the SYN50/50 power amp the modules really come to life. Such a jewel to have an all tube analog system again.
