A Fully Loaded Class A Combo

The Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 delivers full-on tube tone. Whether you want ultra-clean or sizzling crunch, this combo amp fully captures the magic of a Class A, single-ended tube power stage. Beyond that, this amp’s Celestion Seventy 80 speaker complements its gorgeous tone beautifully. The Studio 10 6L6 features footswitchable Clean and Overdrive settings that can be dialed to perfection with its Tone control. A speaker-emulated output makes recording or running straight into a PA sound amazing, while digital reverb adds dimension to your playing. The Studio 10 6L6 from Sweetwater also includes an effects loop and three external speaker outputs — it’s a fully loaded, 10-watt combo amp!

6L6 power tube yields glassy cleans and toneful grit

The Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 is loaded with a 6L6 power tube. Prized for their fat, round low end and bright clean tones, 6L6s are the epitome of American amplifier tone. These tubes are also extremely versatile, performing as well for clean jazz as they do for hot lead tones. Thanks to its 6L6 power tube, the Studio 10 6L6 delivers a wide range of vintage tones, all pumped through a Celestion Seventy 80 speaker for defined, controlled lows and punchy, aggressive mids.

Loaded with player-friendly additions

The level of tone packed inside of the Studio 10 6L6 is impressive for a small 10-watt amp. And it’s loaded with features that are sure to add excitement to your recording sessions. Its speaker-emulated output is taken after its Class A power stage, so you’ll inject your projects with 6L6 power tube tone, along with the dimensional sound of a miked-up cab. Integrating the Studio 10 6L6 with your pedalboard and other effects is a piece of cake thanks to its effects loop. You also get three external speaker outputs for adding an extension cab. Beyond that, the Studio 10 6L6 features a built-in reverb that provides lush ambience without washing out your playing.

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

LOVE THIS AMP !

From the moment I plugged into this amp I fell in love with it. It is exactly as described . It gives you those sweet vintage Fender tones as well as the crunch of a Vox British amp. Plug a Strat - Tele - Ibanez - Strandbeg or any guitar into it and you'll be amazed at how well they sound through it ! It takes pedals very well and can be deceivingly loud for 10 Watts !
It's beyond amazing at this price point or any for that matter.

Digging my first tube amp.

I've had the Roland Blues Cube Hot and Stage. I think they are good amps but as a newbie I wasn't coming close to the tones or sustain I wanted.
I watched some reviews and decided to give the Blackstar Studio 10 a shot. I'm glad that I did. Immediately the tones, sustain, and responsiveness of my pick and the strings improved.
I haven't tried pedals with the Studio but every Pick Up I try is more vibrant.
I'm a tube amp guy now.

An Amazing Amp!

I've never written a review here before but this amp is too good not to rave about. I've own several tube amps. Some vintage and some modern. I've been struggling to find an amp that you just turn on and it sounds good right out of the gate. This amp does it for me. The clarity and articulation of notes are all there with no fuss. Cleans are smooth yet with punchy transients. The gain sounds great as well. After recording a few tracks with a few different mics, I was surprised that they all sounded great. That has not always been the case for me with other amps. The emulated cab line-out sounds good as well. It's so simple, but sounds so great. Blackstar did a wonderful job with the Studio 10 6L6.

Great tones!

I bought one of these about 3 months ago from a local guitar shop and am in love! I've only really played solid-state amps before this and was absolutely amazed by the tones I could get out of it. It can produce nice, loud cleans as well as great edge-of-break-up, all the way to some heavy gain tones too. I spend most of my time in the clean to edge-of-break-up area, personally. I have a few minor complaints listed below.

1. The light-colored exterior attracts scuffs and scratches if you move it around a lot. I think a darker color would age better. I also wish there were metal covers on the corners to aid in durability.

2. I can't find much use for the included foot pedal. When I switch from boosted to unboosted, the levels just aren't where I like them, meaning that I have to readjust to get a tone I like. It's easier to just go to the amp and change as I want. At least in my experience, with the tones I like, the footswitch isn't a valid way to switch tones mid-song.

These are minor annoyances, if you want inspiring tone for days, this is a compelling choice of an amp.

my go to amp

I don't review much of what I buy - and most of my reviews are more negative than positive. It took a while for this amp to settle in. It's only 10 watts - but wattage is not a measurement of volume. Most venues these days have a house sound system - so you can probably gig with this. (check first!) This amp produces the sounds I want better than than the dozens of other amps I have owned and do own. As a pro player for over 40 years I would encourage all guitar players to check this out. I'm very happy.
