Solid State Logic’s SSL FlexVerb reverb plug-in is named for its stunning flexibility and versatility. This Reverb is Bad
I can't believe this reverb from SSL could sound so bad. It sounds very fake, plastic and cheap. You should try it before you decide to buy.

Very polished and professional sound!!
I got this plugin on sale from a plugin website and decided to put it to the test in a mix I am currently working on. I replaced the current vocal reverb I was using for a slow, melancholic ballad and went to a vocal preset (I believe it uses the hall reverb). The sound literally made me say "WOW" as I listened to the vocal. As my review title states, this reverb sounds incredibly polished and professional. I think I found my new go-to reverb...and I own a ton of reverb plugins (WAVES, T-Racks, Slate, Pro Tools stuff)! Couldn't be happier with this plugin!!!
not impressed
I got this reverb on black Friday with high level of expectation from SSL in terms of quality. To be honest after spending an hour or so I was disappointed. To my ears they use the same algorithm for room, chamber, hall, ambient, etc just increasing or decreasing the reverb time and diffusion level. The sidechain compressor is nice though. I wish SSL would let me demo this reverb prior purchasing but according to SSL policy I was not qualified because I wasn't a bundle subscriber.
Incredibly Versitile and a huge staple in mixing
I didn't buy it from here, but dang, it deserves so much more attention than it really ever gets. Maybe because of its price, but this is my go-to over my Exponential Audio reverbs. I'll admit, it was confusing to use at first. But when it comes to giving incredible quality, what isn't? It creates such a beatiful halo around the vocals in a mix which helps the signal cut through even more after dynamics and eq...yet at the same time, helps vocals sit perfectly in unison with everything else. With the right settings, you won't even notice that reverb is used
And the idea of 'multipliers' for its 6-band eq is very clever. Likewise, the compressor for sidechaining knocks off a few plugins to save time and space
