SSL MKII AUDUO INTERFACE
Great interface, solid all around. Easy set up. the 4k button adds that extra sparkle. Would recommend this highly
Huge step up from the M Audio interface!
Plug & play goodness!
The difference between the SSL and the M Audio interface I'd been using is amazing.
Without out all the tech mumbo jumbo, this thing just plain sounds good!
The preamps are clean, but have a lot of muscle to boost any signal.
An additional cool feature is the '4K' buttons that emulate the SSL 4000 series mixers.
SSL includes a boatload of free downloads & hardware discounts on the SSL plugs, etc.
If someone is on the fence about getting one, just do it, you'll be glad you did.

SSL might also stand for Sweet, Superior and Logical.
Pretty good interface.
I just got this to replace 2yo Black Lion Revolution 2x2 which the drivers for Windows were getting wonky already. SSL is a nice unit, took some ironing out for cracks and pops, adjusting sample rate and buffer size. The slight CONS are the unit remains ON even with my laptop turned off, so I have to unplug it. And secondly I find it odd that the two monitor out jacks are so close together!! It makes it tight and awkward to plug in the cables. Still, I would buy it again, just a couple minor irritations. Thank you Jimmy Hart for all you do!!
By far the best in class
I recently got the SSL2 Mk2 interface and all I can say is wow! I'm using an older AT4050 and I thought it sounded fine, but through this interface, I was astonished at how much better it sounds. There is so much more detail and full frequency bandwidth. The bundled plug-ins are great – no junk. I've always wondered what was the big deal with SSL, and now I know. If you are looking for an affordable interface, this is definitely best in class.
Terrific Sound!
With the 4K mode engaged, it sounds very much like the larger SSL consoles!
Grab yours
This is by far my favorite audio interface.
Vocal sounds so beautiful! I wished I bought the one with more input.
If you want to go up from this go for apollo but if budget is your problem get this!
Great Interface
When I first got the SSL2 I had a little trouble with the setup only because my other 2 channel interfaces ( Focusrite 2i2, Volt 2) didn't require me to switch channels in my daw. I am really happy with this unit and the fact it has loopback for directed sessions. Sound quality is good with good micpre amps although I use a Grace 101 for my mic. I like the 2 headphone jacks since I have a set of headphones in the booth and one set where I do my edits for VO. Quiet, solid build, and easy to use. This interface does have a bigger footprint than my other interfaces but not a deal breaker.
Better than last model!
Headphone volume has improved and the 4k mode you can actually hear the difference in this version! Easy to use. Priced right.
I like it!!!
High Five!
Thoughts on SSL 2 MK2
Overall I've enjoyed the SSL MK2 audio interface. Its functionality and ease of use is top tier. Having different knobs and buttons for just about everything makes the recording process and small adjustments so much easier. The mic outputs are also on the back which I love. The only thing I don't like as much is the size and physical feel. It feels cheaper than I expected and is definitely chunkier than other interfaces. Hopefully in the long run, the preamps, quality, and use makes it much more worth it!
Great interface, questionable materials
I love this interface, and all of the specs that it lists are a massive increase in quality from what I used to have (Scarlett 2i4). However, the casing feels like a significant portion of it might be made from plastic. That's a little disappointing, to be honest, because I was expecting something that felt a little heftier and substantial. That being said, the layout is very convenient and the individual channel phantom power is wonderful. I quite like the interface overall.
