Great compressor. Musical and easy to adjust in real time. Sounds really great on Stratocaster tones.

You don't need 6 dials. Keep it simple. This does what 99% of users need.

I'm a hack bedroom player...can't play my way out of a paper bag. I purchased this pedal 2nd hand after reading reviews on SW and elsewhere. Glad I did.

This pedal instantly made me sound better... my wife walked by as I was texting it out and said "wow, you've gotten better!" No I haven't, I just got this pedal! Lol

I can't find any reason to open this pedal up to change from the default settings; maybe just to remove the battery.
I leave it on low, volume at noon, and blend to taste. 12:30 to 1:00 for me. Guitar>Tuner>Xotic SP>Xotic EP>Whatever the heck you want after. My EP has the 3 DB boost off with everything else default. Knob from off to 9:00.

Anything you do after this will sound so much better than without these two pedals.

I've had more complicated (Original Effects) double stacked pedals, but if you breath on them or knobs get touched it takes some work to get it back to what you want.

I've also had the UA LA-2A. Too transparent or too much. No in between in my opinion.

The ease of getting fantastic reproducible compression with this pedal makes it as important as my tuner. (And EP Booster ;))

I've only had Xotic SP Compressor Mini Pedal for a short while. It's my first compressor pedal and
I've only used it solo, at home. I haven't tried it with my band yet. But, first impressions are that it's going to be great. I've got it setup near the beginning of
my pedal board signal chain. It adds a lot of pop and clarity to my tone. I'm sure I'll find more nuanced uses for it over-time. But, I'm also sure I'm going to kick it on when I want my solo to standout and be noticed. Very cool addition to my ever evolving tone quest.
