Reviews

Thomastic SL109 Electric Blues Sliders 9-43 and PRS CE24 perfect match?
I don't write many reviews as most reviews already state what I've experienced.
These strings compel me to this review. ( as we all know YMMV ! )
Like any guitarist searching for the perfect string for a given instrument I've tried many strings on my PRS CE 24.
( purchased 2 years ago from Sweetwater)
My aging hands benefit from a lighter string.
I found the D'Addario XS 9.4-44 strings made the guitar come alive, but were still a bit
tight for me . I tried the 9-42 XS but the high E & B were too thin sounding and didn't feel right.
Of all the strings I've tried the XS daddarrio were the best for this guitar.
That is until the Thomastik-Infeld Blues Sliders SL109 9-43 landed on the PRS.
( I've tried other Thomastik strings but weren't anything special)
I've had round core strings on this guitar before but something was missing either with the feel or sound. but these are something special.
They are rich sounding with great definition and clarity and very responsive to touch and great dynamics. I could further attempt to describe how these feel and sound , but I'd suggest instead to try them for yourself . My playing style is more along clean tones , from jazz to rockabilly and with the usual reverb etc from an HX Stomp modeler.
These also sound great with distorted tones and with better clarity than any other string I've tried.
I like low action (who doesn't?) but most strings don't behave well when low. These do!
The PRS has a superb neck which is part of equation no doubt. Like the old adage says " plays like butter " and sound great even with my light touch. They are round core so an extra wind on the tuner is suggested plus a little bend on the string end before cutting it.
For me I think I've found the sweet spot for this PRS CE24 with the Thomastic SL109 Electric Blues Sliders 9-43.
I purchased another set after having these on the guitar for a few weeks.
Recommended!

Really love my Blues Sliders Thomastik-Infeld strings
A little background first. I've played acoustic guitars most of my life. But this past year I purchased a vintage 1953 Gibson ES-125 electric hollow body. On my acoustic, a Martin D-35 from 2001, I use 11 - 55 strings. But on my ES-125 it plays and feels like an electric guitar so I wanted to try these strings at a light size, 9 - 43. I'm very pleased with them. They give the guitar a nice easy feel. With less string tension, bends and faster fingering with a light touch works very well. I enjoy both guitars and like the contrast of feel. I know the strings are little more expensive, bur for me it is easily worth because it makes by ES-125 fun to play.
Tone setting strings
These strings have a tone unmatched by other string manufacturers

Yes, the cost more but that is the price you pay for the best out there
Nice Strings!
Full sound, with warm low end, clear mids and highs and they seem to have their own distinct tone. Good for Surf Rock, Blues, Country or Classic Rock.
My favorite
Expensive? Yes. Do they last? Yes.
Do they sound better than other strings? Yes,IMHO. Are they flexible? Yes. Are they too flexible? No. Are they easy to play? YES. Are they smoother than other wound strings? Yes. Are they balanced? Yes. Should i try them? Why not, if you can afford them.
They last. They sound great. They even look good with their gold color on the unwound strings.
