Reviews

Classic tone
The differences between these chrome-plated wires and their non-plated "dry" counterparts are subtle but noticeable. These are livelier and have more "buzz" to them, which is very noticeable when performing press/buzz rolls. Where the dry are ultra-articulate to the point of hearing every stroke within the roll, these better create the snare "whoosh" that give press rolls their magic and drama.

Both models sound incredible, just different. If you're going for that dry Jack DeJohnette or Jon Christensen sound, go for the non-plated. For a warmer, buzzier, more classic sound, go with these. Either way, Canopus make the absolute best snare wires I've yet played.

Work well on my 1968 Rogers Powertone snare. Slightly longer than the original, but was not a problem.

Yes!
I'm very pleased with the sound of the drum I put them on. I have several other snare drums and I'm going to put these snare wires on all of them!
