Excellent!

Great shelf, but could use a basic instruction sheet with it.

I purchased this sliding rack shelf to go with my Gator tour track I setup in my home studio. The shelf is solid and made well. I have no issues with the quality or the function.

However, for first time installers/noobies like myself, I could have used an instruction sheet. I ended up wasting a lot of time over engineering the installation for this shelf so it would fit properly in my rack case. The screws on the rails that need to be loosen so you can adjust the length for deeper rack cases was a little bit of a pain to work with.

Other then that, this shelf was exactly what I needed. I have an older VHS tape deck I didn't want to alter by putting track brackets on, so this shelf was perfect to put that on.

Gator metal products fail consistently.

See photo. This is what you can expect with Gator products: by far, not rugged enough for studio or live environments. Stripped screw heads, bent frames. When all you make is metal, and your metal is useless, you have no business being in business. Avoid Gator, even for the seemingly smallest project requirements.

Bad Buy For Me

I bought this for my gator rack case but this didn"t seem to fit very well. And when I got it in I pulled out the rack to test it and it wouldn"t budge. I thought I installed it incorrectly (idk how I could have) but I took it apart, put it back in and it still wouldn"t budge while in the rack. I thought maybe i just needed to tug a bit harder and when i did, all the little balls that move the rack flew out of the somewhat flimsy frame that holds them.

After putting them back in and trying to bend the metal back my shelf now slides out about 2 inches before jamming. So maybe it"s me or maybe I just needed some instructions. Either way I"ll be buying a replacement.
