Adds Rafter-shaking Bass to Your SAT System

The single purpose of the Behringer SAT 1008 SUBA is to infuse your system with rafter-shaking low end. This 600-watt active subwoofer boasts a muscular Class D amplifier and an 8-inch long-excursion low-frequency driver, yielding chest-thumping bass, all the way down to 30Hz, with a maximum SPL of 110dB. The SAT 1008 SUBA includes a flexible selection of I/O and controls, plus phase reverse and status LEDs. You also get a built-in stereo crossover and an intelligent limiter to safeguard your system against blowouts. The SAT 1008 SUBA makes a superb addition to a wide range of fixed audio installations, including stereo and surround applications, restaurants, gyms, bars, and lobbies.

Jam-packed with useful features

We're duly impressed by the SAT 1008 SUBA's performance here at Sweetwater. Not only does it include a robust, high-efficiency Class D amplifier and state-of-the-art DSP, but it also delivers outstanding sound. Its custom-engineered, low-frequency driver effortlessly churns out a maximum SPL of 110dB, with a frequency response of 30Hz–145Hz. You get separate Volume and Bass controls and a phase reverse button to compensate for frequency cancellations between the SAT 1008 SUBA and your satellite speakers. Balanced XLR combo inputs, locking NL4 outputs, and optional RCA inputs are onboard. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal, and input overloads. There is also a built-in stereo crossover tailored to Behringer's SAT 1004 loudspeakers. Lastly, an intelligent limiter provides you with top-notch system protection.

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!

Surprising Lows
Have used this in a couple different applications. One outside for an event. Was very surprised at the amount of bass coming from such a small enclosure. Was clear also.
Used it in my music room to amplify my acoustic bass drum. Again very surprised at the amount of clear bass coming from this unit.
Music background: DJ and Drummer
Surprisingly low bass, but no line level outputs
I bought this to pair with a couple of powered mains (Behringer EuroLive B210s) because I wanted a smaller rig for a duo setup. I ended up surprised because I expected to run the mixer output (stereo) into this unit, then use its built-in high-pass filter to feed the mains. However, the outputs of this unit are in fact powered SpeakOn connectors, intended to go directly to a pair of unpowered Behringer SAT 1004 speakers - there are no line outputs at all.

I ended up cobbling the B210s into the RCA outputs of my mixer, and rolling off the bass on them a bit to try to get a more-or-less smooth response, and in fact it ended up sounding pretty good. This sub really does seem to get all the way down to its advertised 30 Hz; my half of the duo is a keyboard, on which I use Fender Rhodes and organ patches to provide the bass, so I really wanted that smooth powerful bottom.

It has enough power for the venues I've used it in so far. I don't think it would keep up at a large outdoor venue like a park or farmers' market, but for bars and coffee houses it's just fine. It's pretty small too (which is why I selected an 8" sub), and seems to be really solidly built. The outside finish is some sort of super-rugged paint I have on a couple of other speakers, which on them has held up with absolutely no dings after a couple of years of gigging. It's a bit heavy for its size, though

Pros: Adequate power, small size, smooth *very* deep response, rugged construction.
Cons: No line level outputs, crossover frequency not adjustable. -1 star...

One review mentioned the lack of a pole socket; I guess a top socket would be nice if I was using a pair of these to fly the mains, but not a big deal. Obviously, there's no reason for a bottom socket - you're not gonna fly the sub...
Music background: Keyboard, vocals, musician as an actively gigging sideline.
More than enough in the right application
Bought a pair to supplement Bose S1 speakers, primarily used for solo gigs and some backyard parties. They are so small for subs and do a great job at just rounding the sound out enough to be noticeable but without creating an unmanageable bass headache when paired with smaller speakers. Are they amazing…of course not, but are they really good at doing what they do, I think so. I'm running through a DBX PA2 with crossover set at 125 and like what I am getting with this combo. Would recommend to anyone that just needs to beef up the low end a bit on a smaller scale system. Not going to rock a huge venue with just these but that isn't the purpose.
Sounds Great
I was not happy when I first hooked this up in my apartment. Not a sound came out. Its paired with a Bose SP1 Pro but once I got it out on a gig and could turn it up things changed. It produced outstanding bottom end and is fully adjustable. I'm very pleased. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it has no pole mount. It would be more convenient to have rather than using a separate stand

Thanks Norb
