Complete Cymbal Package with Stratus-style Heavy Hammering

Sabian’s Stratus series of cymbals offers the modern drummer a clear, articulate B20 bronze solution for delivering rhythms with a lasting impact and stunning good looks. Courtesy of an extra-heavy hammering protocol, Sabian forges each Stratus cymbal to execute a professional-grade wash of warmth and clarity with the performance versatility to thrive in virtually any musical setting. This Stratus Promotion Set contains a pair of 14-inch hi-hats that combine a medium-light top hat and a medium-heavy bottom hat, maintaining an airy aura when opened up and a defined, well-rooted percussiveness when closed. The thin 16- and 18-inch crashes provide high-energy voices that linger just long enough to make a statement without overstaying their welcome. Finally, the 20-inch Stratus ride cymbal provides the ideal support, with a warm undertone-laden wash and a bell that cuts at all dynamic levels. From precision tracking of your kit in a studio setting to sounding your very best on the drum riser, drummers at Sweetwater champion Sabian’s Stratus series a dependable bronze go-to!

WOW

I purchased these right before Thanksgiving for a tracking session that fell the day after turkey day. Sweetwater nailed it with fast shipping .... also helps that I have an awesome sales rep ... thanks Joe Shafer :)

BUT.... I researched these cymbals a little and found out these are Sabians entry level "recording" cymbals.. they are thinner, made out of the same B20 bronze as there HH series, with a great darker sound that tracked amazingly well ... used Rode M5's as overheads and all I could say was "WOW"... very crisp ... great natural fast decay. If you need a set of cymbals to start recording drums BUY THESE CYMBALS TODAY....

Best cymbals for the money
Just got these a few days ago. I purchased a display set at a discount that was in perfect condition. I was looking for Zildjian Ks without the price tag of Zildjian Ks and these are definitely the best I was able to find. I play casually and at small gigs with genres ranging from jazz to rock, and these fit the versatility that I needed. Generally, these have fantastic tones. They're lower pitch than most cymbals in the price range, which I appreciate because they don't overpower everything. They've got a great wash if that's what you're looking for. They can get loud but don't need to be. They're incredibly thin, which is nice for carrying around and helps them get out of the way quicker. The one complaint that I have is not really a complaint, but a preference with the ride. It's very washy and builds with time. I prefer a little more of a ping in the bell and don't want my ride to build as much as this one does. With that said, it's a great ride if that's what you prefer. I can certainly see it being used for gospel/worship music if you're trying to build. It also crashes pretty well, particularly for a ride. I don't want to get rid of the ride, as it truly does sound amazing. But I think I'll get a little heavier of a ride to use as my main.

I compared these with my friend's Zildjian Ks and was not disappointed. Overall, these were the closest I could get to Zildjian Ks at half the price, though the ride is the furthest from a K out of the pack. You can tell that they used B20 bronze and that these are professional cymbals. You just might want a different ride if you're not looking for as much wash and more distinction.
