Next-gen Torpedo-embedded Tube Amp

If you’re impressed by Revv’s revolutionary D20, then you’ll flip over the G20. This guitar amp head delivers the same killer miked-cab tone as its predecessor, but ups the ante with next-level sound-shaping options. Armed with glowing-hot 6V6s and 12AX7s, the G20 delivers the sound of Revv's acclaimed Purple Channel, and you can sculpt that tube-fueled muscle in a myriad of ways via a 3-band EQ, Volume and Gain controls, and a Wide switch. Three Aggression levels dial in the amp’s character from warm saturation to paint-peeling high-gain. And thanks to embedded Torpedo technology from Two Notes, the cab is optional. You also get a power-reduction circuit and buffered series FX loop. While it’s jam-packed with modern bells and whistles, the G20’s best feature is its to-die-for sound. Plug in, and you’ll experience tube amp tone at its highest level.

Embedded Two Notes Torpedo tech for cab-free rocking

With just the G20 and a PA, you have everything you need to obtain a larger-than-life miked-cab tone. Built-in technology from the cabinet-emulation masters at Two Notes provides you with six customizable virtual cabinets selectable via the amp’s front panel. If that’s not enough for you, you can access up to 128 via MIDI as well. You can use the G20’s 6V6-loaded power amp or bypass it and change the amp’s character with a simulated power section. KT66s? 6L6s? EL84s? EL34s? The options are endless! Best of all, the G20 is a complete standalone solution — a reactive load automatically engages when a speaker isn’t present to safeguard your amp. Whether you go direct to FOH, an audio interface, or headphones, the G20 delivers awesome tone.

Plenty of player-friendly features

The Revv G20 is loaded with everything a guitarist could want. It all starts with Revv’s signature high-gain tone — the Purple channel. A 3-band EQ, and Volume and Gain controls give you tons of basic sound shaping that you can temper further with the amp’s Wide switch. Want something a bit rowdier? Three Aggression levels put a myriad of saturated tonal textures at your disposal. A power-reduction circuit enables you to nail cranked tones at appropriate volume levels. A buffered series FX loop makes integrating your pedals and other external effects a piece of cake. The G20 plays well with a variety of cabinets, thanks to a switchable 4/8-ohm speaker jack. You also get an easily accessible bias test and fuse.

Delivers killer tube tones — its other features are just icing on the cake

It’s easy to get distracted by the G20’s endless array of sonic toys, but even without its modern feature set, it’s a killer amp. At Sweetwater we bypassed all the embedded tech and cranked it up, and everyone agreed that it’s a winner. Its clean tones are warm and inspiring, and they make a top-notch platform for gain pedals. Its high-gain tones are downright raging — tight, full, and expressive. And its straightforward front-panel controls give you a lot of tonal space to maneuver in.

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!

Reviews

Incredible Little Amp
I was jaw dropped when I first plugged in this little bad boy. It's got a blistering drive channel but don't be fooled by that, It's also got a sweet clean channel that's very detailed. I've got it paired with the REVV 1 X 12 Cab and it's obviously a good match. The cab needs some break in time as you can tell the speaker is tight and hasn't opened up yet. Even so this little box packs one helluva punch on the high gain channel and you can color it even more with the three "Aggression" settings, truly aggressive. It's more detailed than my Marshall DSL 20 which sounds a bit muddier. I still have a lot to discover like MIDI and the Two Notes XLR load box output but so far this is exactly what I wanted and I'm having a blast playing it. If you're looking for a small amp with a fantastic high gain channel and a clear clean channel this is a great choice.
A Sledgehammer
Initially I went with a Mark V 35 but returned it because I didn't get wowed by the sound. Nice little amp but not my cup of tea. My rep Rob Amaral suggested I try this 1/4 stick of dynamite called the Revv G20. As soon as I plugged in I knew this thing delivered a punch. It is super portable. No cab needed, if you need to play in quiet situations. Just plug straight into the board or use headphones. It offers 6 simulated cabs to offer versatility. The clean channel is superb. Comes with a nice handy bag to transport. Footswitch is a must for ultimate control. Fat tube sound out of a lunchbox amp. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for a heavy sound. But versatile enough to deliver for any style of music.
Revv G20, you can't go wrong
This is a fire breathing dragon, amp alone is a monster, more gain than you will ever need I don't care what style you play. Add the Two Notes Torpedo and load box it just becomes so versatile. It's just loaded with features but it has great tone as well. Perfect for on stage or recording. Takes pedals extremely well on the clean channel and my HX Stomp in 4 cable mode sounds the best it has ever sounded. I'm playing it though a Bluguitar Fatcab 1*12 and they match very well. I was concerned about pulling the trigger because of cost, however, its worth every penny, A good purchase for sure.

I have no words for this
This is easily the best amp I have ever had. The distortion channel is far better than anything else I have personally used. It sounds great out of the box but can be molded into whatever tone you want. This amp is also packed full of features from the convenient headphone output to the virtual cabinets, this amp is incredibly versatile and I can wait to see what it can do in a live setting.
All the Tone
What a monstrous little amp! The clean channel is an amazing pedal platform, similar to the D20, which I use to get that classic rock OD sound with a Klon clone. But the distortion channel is absolutely killer. You can push the gain to 11 without it getting fizzy or compressed sounding. Add on the Two Notes Torpedo and you have an all in one setup. My band using IEM's and now, with confidence, I don't feel like I need to bring my 4x12 to any more shows.

While the price may seem higher for the mini head market, the value with the two notes direct out is enough in itself. Revv, like always, knocks it out of the ballpark.
