Command Infinite Space with the BOSS RV-200

The RV-200 reverb pedal from BOSS empowers you with 12 classic and contemporary reverb styles, true stereo, a user-friendly interface, and deep customization, including footswitch-activated reverb modifiers! With the capability to store up to 127 user presets, the RV-200 is likely the only reverb pedal you'll ever need — gone are the days of dialing in a sweet plate or drippy spring sound only for it to vanish when you reach for something more ambient or experimental. The RV-200 features a high-visibility LED for smooth editing and easy navigation, even onstage in the dark. Furthermore, this DSP powerhouse boasts a 96kHz sampling rate, 32-bit conversion, and 32-bit floating-point processing for astoundingly lushness and fidelity, especially in stereo. You can integrate the RV-200 into any rig, then customize your workflows with built-in MIDI or supplement controls using footswitches, expression pedals, or other 200 series pedals. Discover a comprehensive reverb tool that tone tweakers, professional performers, and ambient artists can get behind with an RV-200 reverb pedal from Sweetwater.

12 modes and up to 127 presets

The RV-200’s reverb library encourages experimentation while simultaneously preserving user-friendly features that quickly guide you toward an ideal tone for any musical scenario. Prepare to explore warm rooms, sprawling halls, springs, reverse, shimmer, and more! Time, Level, and Pre-delay controls offer rapid plug-and-play tweaks. Meanwhile, deep editing allows for pinpoint refinements using high and low filters, 5-stage density control, and a parameter knob uniquely optimized for each mode. Fortunately, the RV-200 can save up to 127 user presets, affording you room to explore the depths of reverb in all its glory.

Choose from Room, Reverse, Arpverb, and more!

  • Room with four size selections
  • Concert hall with three size selections
  • Studio-style plate with high and low damping
  • Amp-style spring with an adjustable spring count
  • Dreamy shimmer with adjustable harmonic character/diffusion
  • “Arpverb” arpeggiated cadences with pitch-shifted tails and adjustable arpeggio attack
  • “Slowverb” ambient algorithm with reduced attack, gentle harmonics, and pronounced wet/dry contrasts
  • Reverse reverb with enhanced high-frequency control
  • Modulated hall with adjustable modulation depth
  • +Delay reverb with a united time parameter and adjustable delay level
  • Lo-Fi mode with adjustable tape-like distortion
  • Gate reverb that defeats reverb tails with an adjustable gate

Innovative footswitch modifiers

The RV-200’s custom footswitch parameters can be configured to activate Warp, Hold, Twist, and Fade modifiers for new dynamic twists and a more interactive reverb experience. For instance, with the Hold function assigned, pressing the RV-200’s secondary switch will sustain a sound until the footswitch is released. This functionality can create pad-like textures that pair well with volume swells and is especially useful for transitions, intros, and outros.

Studio-grade fidelity

The RV-200’s sound quality is bound to astound. Guitarists at Sweetwater report no loss of tone, along with immaculate fidelity that lets audiences and players savor every inch of reverb space. The secret of the RV-200’s class-leading quality is its laudable 96kHz sampling rate, custom DSP, hi-fi 32-bit AD/DA conversion, and 32-bit floating-point processing. The resulting sounds are truly studio-grade and ready to handle reverbs, big or small, with equal gusto.

Stereo and MIDI I/O

The RV-200 boasts impressive true stereo ins and outs, plus connectivity for MIDI, expression pedals, and select footswitches. Many of the RV-200’s functions and parameters can be mapped to a footswitch, expression pedal, or MIDI controller to enhance navigation and live dynamic control. Moreover, the RV-200 can be paired with other 200 series BOSS pedals for simultaneous memory selection across your entire chain.

Versatility and warmth

I'm a little confused by a few of the reviews regarding muting (silencing) the direct out. This can be achieved by setting the output mode to "Direct Mute" which is in documented in the manual.

Now, it took me a bit to get used to RV-200. I've been using an RV-6 for years which I love, and that's just a simple pedal to use with great results. I've been getting calls for more ambient style session work as of late so I thought: "Let's try something different!"

I'm glad I did. This pedal has a lot to offer in juicing up ambience. I love the Shimmer and the ArpVerb settings and I absolutely love the versatility afforded across all settings for dialing it all in with the parameter offerings, density, EQ, and timing. Through in the ability to save settings, and take it even further by adding an expression pedal, and a deep dive into pedal settings and configuration parameters. There's a lot to love about this pedal and I'm loving it. The sound quality is absolute rich and pleasing. I'm happy I added it to my lineup.

THE BOSS 200 SERIES AND WORSHIP TEAMS

I just added the BOSS RV-200 to my board with the OD-200, DD-200, MD-200 and SY-200. I have been playing CCM worship music for over 30 years now and this set of pedals is my favorite setup. We direct out to mic'd amps backstage. Typically worship sets are 3-5 songs and can be multiple services. Using a set of momentary triggers and a Boss FS7, I can model each song and save to slots 1-4 (and beyond) and advance everything together on-stage for the current week. I've used AXE FX, multi-effects pedals, complicated bank pedals like the Boss 500s, Strymons, and just beautiful but random selections like the L6 D4 delay. The BOSS 200 series allows me tweak the sounds, align the timing with the click fed to us in-ear, and save in sequence where I can instantly see that all the pedals are now on memory "N-2" for instance. The typical worship year has 30-40 new songs that replace last years 30-40 new songs, so as opposed to a classic rock cover band, I don't need a deep dive into banks of named memories for gigs year after year. The SY-200 and the new RV-200 give me the ambient choices that are becoming more popular in CCM. The DD-200 allows you to set your quarter note delay then explore multiple delay settings within that tempo. You can expand the memories to whatever length you need up to 127. The most important factor is the pedals program just about identically. I'm not a MIDI guy (yet) but you can take this to another level if you are so inclined. The more I tweak them the more I learn what is there. I do keep a little notebook and save certain sounds deeper in the memory bank to then move forward into the first 4-5 memories for a set. These pedals all sound great and are a good operational compromise that works, especially for the stage, which is the venue for a worship team. THX MWB
