SanDisk Professional Pro-Blade 4TB SSD MAG

So far so good! The first one of these I ordered from another source died almost immediately! Thank goodness Sweetwater had one available! I would have given it 5 stars, but I am sure you can appreciate due to my previous experience with this product, the jury is still out! I have got two other SanDisk Professional Pro-Blade SSD Mags that have done just fine since I purchased them; no problems. Yes, I would recommend them!

Very solid option, would recommend!

I have 4 of the these drives, the 4 slot bay, and a couple extra individual drive enclosures. Bottom line, I love these drives, love the build, the design, the reliability, etc…

Issues to be aware of and why they are 4 star and not 5! 1. They are based off of TB3 tech, and without the a really modern port with supported power and bus capability, you won't get anywhere near the advertised speed, you'll still get good speeds, just not the advertised speed. 2. The drives and doc are solid… But the single slot enclosures are a little on the big side, meaning more space and thought is needed to mount with cameras or with ultra portable laptop use. 3. Owning a set of these for field drives, I work on a lot of commercials, is a double edged sword. You get speed, reliability, and durability, but when clients don't come prepared you might have to risk sending a drive with them… I've had to say no a few times now and would rather deal the massive file uploads vs letting my drives fall into the black hole that can be 3rd party post production! And lastly 4. These are a Gen 1 product and I think things will improve quite a bit with Gen 2, if they keep this line up! These drives have been rather controversial in the general use world for their proprietary connection ports and cost over something far more simple like a Samsung T series. But I've bricked t series before by both using them for data transfers and to work from, I jumped on these because you really can do everything with them and they are built to take it.

All that said, the 4TB sticks are back on sale and I have zero issues with buying a 5th specifically for my mobile setup :)
