Multifaceted Tone Shaper from Jackson Audio
Boutique pedal builder Jackson Audio’s flagship stompbox, Prism, is a formidable tone-shaping tool, ready to boost, buffer, and sculpt your ultimate guitar tone. In the way that optical prisms break white light down into its component colors, Prism refracts your natural tone and lets you restructure it in unique ways. This is particularly handy for gigging guitarists who like to vary their sound song to song and section to section, without having to lug around a massive pedalboard. The signal sculpting begins with a powerful active EQ duo that lets you independently shape your guitar’s high and low frequencies. Following that, Prism funnels the signal through its preamp and boost section, which offers three distinctive boost circuits — transparent and clean, tube-amp-style drive, and a colorful silicon treble booster. At the end of Prism’s chain sits a tone-saving high-current buffer that mitigates signal degradation caused by long cable runs and packed pedalboards. When giving it a playthrough, guitarists at Sweetwater marveled at Prism’s ability to transform their guitar tone. Give it a try, and we guarantee you will too!

Three distinctive boost circuits
Prism offers three discrete boost/preamp circuits, each with a distinctive voice and breakup characteristic. A transparent clean boost preserves your natural guitar tone but gives you more level to hit your amp harder. A MOSFET circuit grinds out an amp-like saturated boost for a thick, harmonically rich crunch. And a colorful treble booster circuit excels at the kind of slightly scooped guitar bite made famous by Queen’s Brian May. Combined with Prism’s pre-gain switch that offers three stair-stepping levels of intensity, many varied and vibrant guitar tones are at your fingertips.

Powerful frequency-sculpting active EQ
Prism’s dual active EQ gives you precise control over the high and low frequencies of your guitar signal. The Body and Tone knobs act independently of each other, so when you boost or cut the bass, for example, the treble frequencies are left unaffected. Jackson Audio suggests placing Prism at the beginning of your signal chain, allowing you to easily adjust the voice of your rig to accommodate guitar swaps without having to touch the knobs on your amp. With 15dBs of cut and boost on each knob, you can subtly affect your tone or completely reshape it in an instant.
