Two Powerful Pitch Shifting Engines

The Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork+ offers powerful pitch shifting via two independent pitch shifting engines. Each engine can transpose over ±3 octaves and provides ±99 cents of detuning. This enables you to conjure up everything from subtle thickening to full-blown harmonies. You get full control over each engine, with dedicated volume controls for each pitch-shifted voice, plus your dry signal. The Pitch Fork+ delivers a never-ending array of compelling sonic textures, thanks to eight different operating modes. This polyphonic pitch shift pedal is versatile enough for any application, thanks to 10 unique factory presets, plus the ability to save and recall up to 100 programs. You also get dual outputs with multiple routing options, a user-programmable footswitch, and expression pedal and foot controller inputs. Pitch shifting is an infinitely useful effect. Once you integrate the Pitch Fork+ into your arsenal, you’ll wonder how you got along without it.

Eight modes achieve a massive range of effects

The Pitch Fork+ can achieve the full gamut of pitch shift effects, spread over eight modes. Add a touch of detune for ultra-thick lead tones. Add a minor seventh to create dissonance. Add octave-up effects for extra shimmer. And that’s just for starters! At Sweetwater, we’ve found the Pitch Fork+ easy to dial in, thanks to dedicated volume controls for each pitch-shifted voice, along with another for the dry signal. Plus, two outputs with comprehensive routing allow you to create amazing stereo effects with a 2-amp setup. And when you find a sound you like, you can easily save it. In fact, you can save and recall up to 100 programs with the Pitch Fork+.

A myriad of features offers flexible pitch-shifting

If you demand flexible pitch-shifting, the EXH Pitch Fork+ will accommodate you. Its footswitch features both latch and momentary modes, giving you plenty of versatility for bypassing the effect. There’s also a user-programmable footswitch (with its own dedicated LED) that you can assign to a variety of functions, such as muting either pitch-shifted voice or jumping to a specific preset. An expression input supplies real-time control over a range of parameters, including frequency, glissando, and volume. There’s also another input for connecting an external foot controller for changing modes, loading presets, and more — hands free.

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

Great quality pitch shifter for the price.
Solid built and modern display. Lots of cool hands on features to tweak this pedal to your musical needs and liking. Presets are awesome and more than you'll ever need right out of the box. Adding an expression pedal is a must and brings out the best in this unit. See Andy Rice for product sales advice and best deals.
Music background: Guitar Vocals
Probably the most versitile and best sounding pitch shifter out there
For those who want a pitch shifter with two voices that can be blended this is the pedal for you. I was leaning towards the base model but wanted the ability to blend in overtones. The best part about the PitchFork+ is that each voice is independent so you are not tied down to octave UP/Down or whatever pedal manufacturers hard-code into their pedals.

There are a myriad of functions I have yet just begun to explore like playing with cross-modulation to get ring modulation and even some synthesizer sounds. The response time is immaculate I feel there is no latency at all. The wet signal has a little bit of a tone loss but it's nothing that would be noticeable in a mix or anything you cant fix with a drive pedal with tone control.

Typically I use this pedal in two ways: to sound like Robert Smith's Bass VI on guitar and you can get very close to that sound if you play with the voice2 detuning option, and to use it as a general chorus with the detune setting. This was something many artists do in the studio like Robert Smith and even John Petrucci (who said the chorus on Images and Words was mostly overdubbed detuned guitars IIRC). You can get precise detuning going up or down whatever cent value you want.

So as you can see the possibilities are endless: you want a baritone guitar with a detuned dry voice - easy. You want an octave below just supporting your dry signal - done. You want mix a flat-2nd and minor-7 with cross modulation - done. There is definitely a learning curve with this pedal, so if you want something that is more plug-and-play maybe this is not the one for you, but if you want a pitch shifter pedal that can do everything and more with pitch this is the one for you.

Before I go - shoutout to Kevin McMillan for helping me choose and scoring me a sweet deal on this pedal. He's the best sales engineer I've worked with at sweetwater!
TONAL EXTRAVAGANZA!
Didn't I review this already? Guess not. This pedal takes your tone and LOVE IT LONG TIME. Right out of the box it took my guitar from birds chirping to a cake eating contest, sweating and chortling deeply and woefully.
And KNOBS! Thank God for knobs. Most gear anymore has screens. Good pedal.
Music background: Guitar, bass, keynoard, programm7ng...
really good for that muse, royal blood type of song
once you dial the octaves to taste hey really respond well. but like any other octave pedal ive tested there is some noise. its not as bad as you might think, its just a background hiss. the functionality is what makes this pedal 5 star. the jump feature into different presets, the stereo option to run different octaves in different outputs, its really amazing for the size. did i mention it tracks well? what more do you want out of it?
Pitch Fork+
Honestly, I'm still playing around with this one. It's kind of redundant in my effects collection (racks and pedals), but I like the character and the internal and external configuration options. Some folk will fuss about the note tracking. I kind of like the weird glissando stuff that the Pitch Fork + can do. I've coupled it with an 8 Step Program for some interesting, sequenced rhythm lines.
The Pitch Fork+ really belongs at the lead of an effects chain or at least before compressors, wah, filters, overdrive, fuzz, distortion, modulation, delay, and reverb effects. Synthesis pedals are probably okay before the Pitch Fork+. Distortion and compression before the Pitch Fork+ weren't bad if tempered, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. The tonal character of the distortion makes a difference, too. For example, a Sovtek Big Muff and the modern EHX/Sovtek Big Muff Deluxe were a couple choice fuzz boxes after the Pitch Fork+ when one or both of the shifts were below the root note.
The investigation continues.
