Say Hello to Your New Favorite Acoustic Preamp

Have you been looking for an acoustic preamp and DI with more flexibility than you’re used to? Consider the Radial PZ-Pro! This 2-channel acoustic instrumental preamp gives you independent switchable control over two separate sources. Each channel has an independent 3-band EQ and filter section to dial in your signal with ease. The PZ-Pro can handle a wide range of inputs. Channel 1 handles piezo and magnetic pickups with ease. Channel 2 offers instrument and mic inputs with switchable phantom power to accommodate dynamic and condenser microphones alike. It even has a switchable effects loop for performers who use stompboxes. To get more from an acoustic preamp, Sweetwater recommends the Radial PZ-Pro 2-channel acoustic preamp.

Impressive flexibility

The Radial PZ-Pro’s flexible tone-shaping options make it a necessity for solo performers. Each channel has an independent 3-band EQ and filter section that can be used to dial in the signal to perfection. You can apply the notch filter for targeted frequencies, or the highpass filter for low-end removal. Next, a blend control lets you customize how much of the effects loop hits the output. The middle footswitch also gives you the option to add a piezo boost to the channel of your choice. Whether you’re rocking an acoustic and a microphone or a trombone and trumpet, the Radial PZ-Pro can handle it.

Radial PZ-Pro 2-channel Acoustic Preamp Features:

  • 2-channel acoustic preamp and DI
  • Independent EQ controls let you shape each input signal individually
  • 3-band EQ helps you slot into the mix with ease
  • Hi-Pass and Notch filters cut out feedback and unwanted boom
  • Assignable effects loops and wet/dry blend knob give you total control over any effects
  • XLR input and switchable phantom power (channel 2) accommodate microphones of all kinds
  • Piezo boost brings up your signal
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

PZ-PRP by Radial
I have 2 acoustic guitars, two different pick ups, 2 different tonalities, which I have on stage at the same time, 2 different tunings.
I wanted 1 preamp that had 2 inputs with separate equalizers, and a boost, this item is the 'bees knees', the 'cat's meow
Music background: My wife and I do acoustic music based on Faith Family & Freedom !
Great Acoustic Preamp
It's great to be able to mix 2 inputs with a variety of mix choices. In my case, I'm using a Black Angel magnetic sound hole pick up with a Lyric bridge mic-type pick up.

As you'd probably expect, the PZ Pro has separate 3 band EQ with sweepable mid range to dial in your sound. You also have the ability to toggle between inputs/ boost the output/ or toggle to an FX loop.

It also serves as a DI box with XLR outputs with both pre and post EQ. The Radial build quality is excellent and the unit is very quiet. Lastly, I forgot to mention the mute foot switch. There are more features, but I'll leave those for your own exploitation if you are considering this unit. I think it's worth your serious consideration.
Update hope to use as a mixer
Tried to use as a mixer for voice and guitar , sounds great on guitar , a no for vocal .

UKE TO BASS
Been adding some ukulele songs to our rock and roll sets. Primarily play electric bass. Wanted an easy switch between instruments and just run the uke through the bass amp. Liked the thought of the uke pushing air through bigger speakers. Overall it was just okay. Easy switch between instruments but not really enough EQ to make my uke sound warm and less tinny. Another issue was with the stage monitors with bass and uke being in one monitor channel. The monitor volumes weren't equal with the uke projecting less volume - it would require tweaking the soundboard each time I switched. For my little (and pricy) experiment I'd give my rating a 2 star. I've realized the the ideal way to incorporate the uke in a rock and roll setting is a dedicated peddle board direct through the PA.
On the plus side, I've run my stand up bass, with pick up, and electric bass through the peddle for a gig and it was 5 star all the way. Seamless and lightening fast switching between instruments perfect tweaking of tone for my upright.
