Add Dirty, Distinctive Character to Your Kit

Providing you with a dirty (yet highly focused) chick sound and a rough, fuzzy character, Paiste PSTX Swiss 14" hi-hats seem tailor-made for electronic music and hip-hop. When they're closed, these hats sound fairly soft and responsive. When you open them; however, you get a noisy, trashy sound that's brimming with distinctive character. The drummers here at Sweetwater have noted that what really sets these hi-hats apart is their Swiss cheese-like holes of various sizes. This unconventional layout creates an exotic, decidedly light (yet surprisingly powerful) effect that's guaranteed to add some spice to your playing. If you want to inject some originality into your drum performances, round out your kit with Paiste PSTX Swiss 14" hi-hats!

Paiste - a tradition of innovation

Headquartered in Switzerland, Paiste meets the creative needs of drummers and percussionists with innovative cymbals, gongs, and bronze percussion instruments. Founded at the beginning of the 20th Century, Paiste lays claim to a number of cymbal firsts, including the first use of 8% bronze, the wavy-edged hi-hat bottom cymbal, the bell-less flat ride, unlathed hammered cymbals, color-coated cymbals, China cymbals with a downturned edge, and the invention of their 2002 Bronze Alloy. World-class drummers such as Bill Bruford, Stewart Copeland, and Vinnie Colaiuta have long relied on Paiste cymbals to forge their signature sounds - and you can, too!

Reviews

So good!
The sound these hi hats make is really addicting. Great for aux hats or for a cool stripped down groove setup.

FYI, I verified this with Paiste -- the top cymbal is the same as the 14" crash. The bottom cymbal is the same as the cymbal included in the 14" flanger stack. So if you buy this + the 14" flanger, or buy the flanger stack + the 14" thin crash you will have the same three cymbals to mix and match. I have yet to really explore all the flavors since I've been stuck on just using them as hats.
Paiste 14" PST X Swiss Hi-Hat
Very nice loose hi-hat sound. A good complement to my #1 hi-hat. Also, as always, Cole and the crew at Sweetwater provide excellent service and everything I've ordered has been received in packages that show they care about their work and that musicians receive their toys undamaged. Thank you!
Swiss Hi-Hats
Excellent choice made!!! This is the Sound I have been searching for, dry, trashy, yet a low tone brilliancy.

Taiste PST X Swiss Hats
These are trashy sounding hats if used as a hat. I am using these in a stack config with different other cymbals. They are really good for this purpose.
