Kick Up the Fatness of Your Bass Drum

Do you need a fat drum sound for rock, pop, and R&B? The Remo Pinstripe Clear bass drumhead is exactly what you have been looking for. These drumheads feature a dual layer of Mylar with a pinstripe circle toward the outer edge. This combination gives your kit a warmer kick sound by dampening high-frequency overtones. The lower-pitched Remo Pinstripe Clear bass drumheads also provide moderate response and attack characteristics. Reinvigorate your drum kit with the fat sound of the Remo Pinstripe Clear bass drumhead from Sweetwater!

The Remo legacy began after World War II with the creation of the Weatherking drumheads, the first drum product to use Mylar. Since then, Remo has been a key innovator in drumhead design and all types of percussion.

Remo Pinstripe Bass Drumhead
I use Premier Hand made in England drums. The bass drum is a 22x16. I've used Remo heads since I first got this kit in 2010. The Pinstripe head truly works well for the shell and delivers a good wet thump for me and with the precise tuning that I use, I also get the tightness that I desire. I also use a bass drum pillow that lies just against the batter head. I do use a Remo front 5" ported head. I record a lot and I get good takes with these heads as the mic is inside the shell of the bass drum. I've been a Remo player for many years and I will continue to be.

Not it
This is personal preference, not a great bass drum head. At least not for my style of playing. I don't want to pack my bass drum with MANY pillows/blankets and the like to get a good fat low end, so this head may not be a great fit unless you enjoy tuning torture. Be cautious about using this as a bass drum head.
