Faster and More Accurate Tuning

Graph Tech's Ratio Locking Tuned Machine Heads offer a revolutionary new experience in ensuring your guitar is tuned more quickly and accurately than conventional tuner designs. Each tuner in the set boasts a custom gear ratio that makes each machine head react the same — roughly one full turn per whole tone. Because each string reacts the same, not only is tuning a more pleasant experience, but nailing alternate tunings is a much faster process. Graph Tech's mission statement is, "To Improve Your Playing Experience." They've nailed it with the Ratio Locking Tuned Machine Heads.

Graph Tech's Ratio technology

Though it's a simple idea, Graph Tech's Ratio technology completely changes the way you tune your guitar. All six strings are outfitted with gear ratios that ensure you attain the same response from your wound low E string as you do your unwound high E. No matter what string you are tuning, you'll notice that one full turn of the tuner equates to roughly one whole tone pitch change. The Ratio technology makes nailing your pitch much easier and faster. And you'll love how fast it is to get to Drop D and other alternate tunings.

Easy installation

One of the greatest benefits of the Ratio Locking Tuned Machine Head system is that they install onto most guitar headstocks and are completely reversible. Graph Tech's standard InvisoMatch mounting plates ship with the tuners. The machine heads mount directly to those plates and aren't screwed into your instrument. As their name would suggest, the InvisoMatch mounting plates are completely hidden by the Ratio Locking Tuned Machine Heads and offer a sleek, low-profile look.

Graph Tech

Graph Tech has made it their personal mission to supply the products that will make your instrument play better, sound better, and perform better. From the company's popular String Saver saddles to their TUSQ string nuts that can be found on countless manufacturers' guitars, the company's products are a mainstay in the guitar and bass industry. Just about every player at Sweetwater owns something created by Graph Tech, because — like their mission statement demands — they never fail to improve our playing experience.

Graph Tech Ratio Locking Tuned Machine Heads Features:

  • Tuner machine heads that make tuning easier and faster
  • Each tuner reacts the same to the same amount of force
  • Mini Contemporary design for a modern look
  • 1 turn is approximately 1 whole tone
  • InvisoMatch mounting plates allow quick mounting with no extra screw holes

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

I stay in tune again!

I put these on my almost decade old Fender JA-90 tele and they fit in perfectly and without the need for the included templates. The stock tuners did a fine job until just recently, at my most recent band practice I had to retune after every song. I can't have that & so I got these tuners & now I'm stoked. These are nice

Best Locking Tuners I have tried

Added these to a G&L Tribute ASAT Carved Top. They were a perfect fit without modification. Came with clear instructions on how to install. There were 4 features I really liked.

- Tuners are numbered on the back, so installation is easier
- It comes with the plates to install on different types of guitars
- Ratio tuners takes less turns to tune.
- The locking wheel is sturdy and does not have play.

Fits my Squier Affinity Series w/o Drilling

I was really upset after getting burned by Fender locking tuners (as the two pegs holes in my headstock were too small for the tuners) but these Ratio locking tuners fit my Squier Affinity series perfectly and without having to drill mounting brackets into my headstock! I'm so happy I found these. Graphtech for the win!

Absurdly easy install on G&L

Installed on G&L Tribute legacy. Didn't even need the extra trims, they just matched. Look great.

I am glad I upgraded

I have an older Ibanez electric from the 80s and sadly the A string tuner gave up. I searched high and low on the internet for originals but they could not be found. The last thing I wanted to do was start drilling larger holes or additional holes in my instrument. Having purchased items over a few years time from Sweetwater, I sent an email to Ashton and he recommended the Graph Tech tuners. At first I thought they were a little pricey but after reading reviews and watching an installation video, I was sold. The installation was easy and no additional boring or drilling or screw holes were needed. I was relieved! Unfortunately my 10mm socket was not deep enough so I purchased an open ended wrench for that issue. That was the only disappointment. Strings are now locked down and hold the tuning far better than the originals. I would buy them again but for this guitar, I shouldn't need too! Thanks Ashton!
Music background: Play piano 50 years, trombone and trumpet 45 years, guitar 42 years and bass guitar 35 years. Played live monthly before COVID.
