Your Brass Effects — in Whisper Mode!

In need of some unobtrusive cymbal companions for your at-home practice space? The HCS Practice Cymbal Set is built for the task. No matter how hard or soft you play, this 3-piece set lets you unleash all your bell rhythms, crashes, and wide-open hi-hat swells without disturbing those around you — and, might we add, in ultra-realistic fashion! Drummers around Sweetwater love not only the sound of this perforated cymbal pack, but also its playability. Straight from Meinl’s brass HCS factory line, these brass beauties still churn out those high-quality bright effects that you love, but at just a fraction of the volume. What’s more, they rebound with an impressive replication of full-fledged stage cymbals, leaving you little headaches when transitioning from rehearsals to shows. And your roommates, family, neighbors, and cats? They’ll love the HCS Practice Cymbal Set just as much as you will — because they won’t have to hear it!

Direct from Meinl’s HCS brass line

The HCS lineup of brass alloy cymbals has been Meinl’s exemplar for bright, lightweight, and affordable brass effects, and it’s the perfect blueprint for cymbal sound reduction. And by utilizing such a trusted and high-quality starting point, the resulting tone of the HCS Practice Cymbal Set is satisfyingly well-preserved and musical. Perforations span the entire surface of the bow and bell, disrupting vibration (volume and sustain) without inhibiting the natural tonal effects of the HCS brass.

Easy practice-to-performance transitions

Sound? Check. What about playability? Well, you’ll be delighted to know that the HCS Practice Cymbal Set possesses an incredibly realistic playing response that lives up to the feel of a traditional cymbal configuration despite its porous presentation. From precision rebound and natural sway to dynamic swelling, this cymbal pack is engineered to maintain a performance-grade feel that won’t trip you up when you transition to your full cymbal set for gigs. They’re also easy on the ears, making for less harsh rehearsals for you and your bandmates. Experts here at Sweetwater trust in Meinl Cymbals — they’ve been in the game since 1951, and their dedication to quality design and construction remains unwavering. See for yourself today!

Newer Drummer - First Time with Practice Cymbals
The cymbals do "work" as advertised - they are very quiet but have a good weight and play quite well. My main gripe is that I have had the top hi-hat cymbal "invert" multiple times with what I would consider a reasonable amount of pressure. This is of course due to the holes, which decreases the overall structural stability. Mind you, it is my first time with such cymbals so take my review with a grain of salt.
