Amazing

Favorite kit I've ever had!

Amazing!

I've been playing my 1964 Ludwig Super Classic set forever. But with newer hardware, the weight and cumbersome bulk was getting to be a drag. So, after much research on YouTube, I got the PDP Concept maple bop set. Was concerned about following a big Ludwig set. Used the PDP's last nite on a gig and I was astonished and very pleased. The set kicked. The toms were deep and punchy. The bass drum filled the place with super low end, percussive tones. All concerns were gone. Now, as a long time studio and live drummer, I know how to tune drums for max effect. I got an Evans bass drum dampener and cut a 4 inch hole in the front head. Otherwise totally stock. The heads are great and I think that the maple shells and hoops combined for a warm, tonefull result. At any cost these drums are stellar. And I'm a vintage drum snob! Recommend without reservation. Also got the Series 800 hardware pack. I have a DW top of line hi hat stand and my cymbals have more "chick" with the PDP. Go figure. Stands are way lighter and solid. Look forward to the next gig to play these drums again.

Concept Maple Bop Kit ...

After doing some research on these drums and watching several review type videos on YouTube I decided to pull the trigger on this kit. I was looking for something with a vintage vibe, one I would really love and one that would act as my "end of life" drum set. Sizes, price, aesthetics, sound and quality were all important factors to me. Well, from the moment these drums arrived (super fast shipping BTW!), I was impressed. At almost 73 years old and drumming since I was 13, I have been around numerous drum sets and these PDPs did not disappoint! Not only are they gorgeous, but they are well made and sound awesome! Equipped with Remo Ambassador heads, both reso and batter; I don't even feel tempted to change the heads out. The tuning range is generous and the response from the 18" kick is amazing. (My Yamaha Anton Fig snare with wood hoops fits right in with what DW has accomplished in this line of drums.) I would recommend the Concept Series to anyone and could not be happier! The service from Sweetwater was astounding BTW, and many thanks to Garrett for his support.

Punch City

I play hardcore and am not the target player for this kit, got these as a lightweight gigging set after back surgery. Definitely had limited expectations but have been floored by how good these sound. I get compliments every show - sound guys love the kick and so do I. The factory head setup is great too. As a longtime tama guy I gotta say PDP is making the best drums out there under $

Big sound , awesome tone !

I always avoided small bass drums for fear of sacrificing power . Not the case with the PDP 18" bass drum. It has a great sound and punch plus volume to spare. To think I lugged those big bass drums around all these years ! Tom's also have a great sound quality . I give this kit an A++
