The Next Step in Capo Innovation

Tired of retuning your strings every time you tighten your capo? Paige’s Clik ETI (Enhanced Tone Innovation) capos are specially designed to require minimal pressure across the strings by utilizing a slotted tension bar that’s similar to a guitar’s nut. This 12-string variation of the Clik ETI features a special step on the outserts that adjusts for the mismatched string diameters on the E, A, D, and G courses — this allows the capo to apply different levels of pressure to the thinner octave strings compared to the thicker regular strings. Plus, a fine-tune tension wheel and a quick-release button make the Clik ETI great for players who move their capos around often during a set. Here at Sweetwater, one of our favorite features is how the ETI can be positioned above the nut to keep your guitar at the ready for some capo action!

Enhanced Tone Innovation technology

Traditional capos can have a tendency to throw your guitar’s tuning out of whack; designs that utilize a solid tension bar apply even pressure across all the strings, and this can be an issue as significantly less pressure is required to depress lower gauge strings than higher gauge strings. Paige’s ETI solves this issue by replacing the classic bar design with a system that looks just like a guitar’s nut — only flipped upside down. Each slot is individually molded for each string: this, combined with the tone bar’s radius, allows the Clik ETI to apply only the absolute minimum amount of string pressure required to produce a clean note. The result? You're always in tune!

Paige Clik PC-12-ETI 12-string Guitar Capo Features:

  • Paige’s unique ETI design applies minimal pressure across the strings, reducing the need to retune
  • Easy 1-handed adjustment with quick-release button
  • Stepped outserts on the E, A, D, and G courses apply different levels of pressure to the octave and regular strings
  • Outsert radius keeps the strings centered when bending
  • Tension wheel for fine tuning
  • Can be kept behind the nut
  • 16-inch radius

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Totally worth it.

I've been playing 12-string acoustic guitar since 1969. I've become adept at transposing chords into a key that's better for my age-diminished vocal range because I couldn't find a capo that retained clarity of tone on a 12-string. The different diameter strings right next to each other prevented the capo from applying equal force and made the tone fuzzy. I recently acquired a Paige capo designed for 12-string guitars. Total game changer. After some adjustments to precisely fit my guitar (an Emerald X-30 12-string) each string rang clear. because each string is pressed down individually, less pressure is required, helping the instrument to stay in tune. I'm totally sold on this capo. It requires a bit more fussing than the usual capo to get optimum performance, but that optimum is fabulous. Besides, if you play a 12-string, you are used to a bit more fussing.
Music background: I've played 12-string since 1969. I took a six string Gibson To Vietnam in '68 and when I returned I bought a 12-string Martin (D12-35). I recently added an Emerald after I heard one played at a concert.

Makes my 12 string sing

Ok so I've had this capo for my Taylor 12 string as well now for a couple of weeks. To be honest at first I wasn't crazy about it, but I found out I was using it wrong. Putting it on and clamping it down tight is absolutely not the way to go with this one. So yes, it does take some adjustments on the string cubes as I call them... As you go place the thing on the 7th fret the cubes can be in a significantly different location on the slide bar and that's not a bad thing because as you say put it on the 2nd fret the strings are tighter to gather and the cubes will need to be adjusted for the narrower neck. So that's the beauty there. It works on any guitar and any neck. Just use install it properly by making sure the small center tab on each string set is in the middle of the set. Pay attention to one of the strings bending means it needs some slide adjustment on the cubes. I get the best results by putting it about 3/8s inch behind the fret. Once I have good alignment and placement then slowly tighten it down while strumming individual string sets. It doesn't take much tension to get them ringing nice a clear and still in tune. This isn't a great capo for live shows if you are changing capo position greater than 2 frets either way. What this is.... is fantastic for just playing and recording where you have a little time.
The only con I see is for the price, I think the tension screw should not have the small amount of play it does have... Kinda like the precision of a G7

Works but!!!

I've spent hundreds on guitar capos over the years trying to find one that doesn't make tone go sharp. This capo does stay in tune (tends a little sharp but is in range). On my Breedlove 12 string the g pair is hard to set and I have to tighten the capo more than I want. I'll have to see how it lasts. If you move it around be prepared to make adjustments on the individual string capos because they will move.

Great 12 string capo

I was having issues with a standard capo on my Taylor 12 string. The high strings on the low E and A strings were buzzing due to the contact point on the capo being too high becasue of the large string adjacent to it. I could make the standard capo work but really had to crank the tension down tightly which caused tuning problems. The Paige 12 string capo completely eliminated that problem.

I would have given this 5 stars but I didn't because it took a bit of messing with it every time I took it off and then put it back on. It's a little bothersome to have to keep readjusting the string spacing on the pads due to slippaged on the bar. I could make that problem go away by putting a little silicone glue between the pads but then the capo would only be useful for one guitar and they are too expensive to have one for each 12 string I have. A couple different electrics and an acoustic.

Still, it works very well if you're not in a hurry.

I am curious to try removing one or two of the pads to experiment with strange tuning options. That intrigues me.
