Pure Alloy Sound with an Updated Look

Drummers around the world love the sound and feel of the Pure Alloy series and have been urging Meinl to create thinner cymbals out of the alloy. After extensive research and development, Meinl has answered the players' wishes and introduces the Meinl Pure Alloy Custom series! Made with the same Pure Alloy you know and love, these medium-thin cymbals have a softer attack with a shimmering wash and crisp, penetrating bell. Featuring a smoked-bronze finish on the top with a brilliantly polished bottom, these cymbals make an eye-catching addition to any kit. The Pure Alloy Custom 18" Medium Thin Crash provides the perfect balance of attack and sustain with an openness you expect from a Meinl cymbal.

Pure Alloy: traditionally crafted to deliver a classic sound

Pure Alloy cymbals are a classic twist on Meinl's innovative sound. Featuring a fully lathed surface with a computer-controlled hammering pattern, these cymbals look and sound great. Fully lathed surfaces are a big departure from the raw, earthy cymbals Meinl is best known for today. This process gives all Meinl Pure Alloy cymbals a higher wash-to-stick ratio — more like traditional cymbals — for a sweet, lingering sustain.

Made by drummers for drummers

Meinl's cymbal innovation stems from both a deep love for the craft and a desire to provide drummers with the sounds they're buzzing about. Whether you're into the traditional Pure Alloy series or the modern-dry Byzance line, Sweetwater is confident that Meinl Cymbals has the sound you're after.

Meinl Pure Alloy Custom 18" Crash Cymbal Features:

  • Creates a more traditional feel and sound
  • Pure Alloy construction produces a full wash and cutting bell
  • Fully lathed surface offers higher wash-to-stick ratio
  • Computer-controlled hammering pattern ensures that each cymbal sounds its best
  • Smoked-Bronze top finish looks great with any kit
  • Brilliant bottom finish catches the light just right

Reviews

Much love for Meinl!
I love it, I also have the pure alloy 18' extra hammered crash, but this crash has higher-end explosion that cuts through and is a little less dark than the other alloy 18 extra hammered crash I have, I like the contrast of the 2.

Aawesome
I've tried a bunch of the budget Meinl cymbals and was disappointed. This cymbal is in the middle of the cost range and I have to say. It sounds amazing.

I ended up buying the 16" and 18". Sounds incredible.
