The 18820 keyboard stand by K&M is rock-solid.

The wide footing of this stand provides a stable platform for my Kronos2 73-key workstation, even when the stage flooring below me was wobbling a bit. Never worried about tipping over or collapsing (adjustable legs) while playing - and I do play with a heavy-handed, physical style. There are also two height adjustable feet (one on the front of each leg) in case your flooring surface is uneven...!!! Whoever thought of that deserves a bonus...don't see many stands that permit you to do any kind of levelling adjustment.

I don't use the tier kit while gigging, but I do use it at home with the K&M tray for extra devices, MIDI keys, etc. It's nice to have in case I decide to add more keys, sound modules, other audio gear, etc. Instead of the tier bars, I took the short arms from another K&M stand and doubled them up to give that extra oomph of support (they're the same as the ones this one comes with).

This stand is heavier compared to an X-brace, Z-brace, or column style (e.g., Ultimate), but on par with other table-style stands (it's about 20 lbs).

As most buyers have observed - this is not cheap; I wouldn't recommend this for a beginner - there are many more inexpensive alternatives that get the job done while you're learning (long-term, however, it would be a solid investment no matter who you are). I think this stand is best suited for advanced to professional players who go from home/practice sessions to gigging and need a versatile but sturdy workhorse.
