Sub-octave Effects for Guitar, Bass, and Synths

The Behringer Octave Divider effects pedal is an authentic re-creation of the classic Octave Divider effect from the ’70s. Use it to add a thunderous sub-octave growl to your guitar, bass, or synthesizers, or engage the Ringer function to emphasize upper harmonics. Kick on the Bass Only switch to cut out your dry signal entirely. And for creative routing flexibility, an auxiliary output allows you to send your dry signal to another amp or effects pedal, separate from the octave-divided output. Whether you’re looking for vintage octave effects or full-blown resynthesis for your guitar, bass, or keyboards, Sweetwater recommends checking out the Behringer Octave Divider pedal.

Behringer Octave Divider Features:

  • Octave divider effects pedal for guitar, bass, and synthesizers
  • Generates a sub-octave effect that can be blended with your dry signal
  • Bass Only switch cuts your dry signal completely
  • Auxiliary output gives you the option to route your dry signal to a different amp than the octave-divided signal
  • Ringer function emphasizes upper harmonics
  • Stabilize switch improves note tracking with monophonic signal sources
  • Rugged metal construction
  • Power supply included

Surprisingly true to the original and I own one

There are two things that you need to know about this pedal:
1) you have to put it at the front of the chain, the absolute front if you play guitar.
2) the artifacts that you are getting now are at the front of the chain are very true to the original.

If you don't want artifacts this is not the pedal for you, that was the charm of the original. If you don't have the placement of the pedal proper in the chain the artifacts will be out of control and over bearing.

I've had an original since I was a kid, its always been a bada$$ pedal. This tribute to the original is amazingly close. I was so pleased once I got playing it but I was also blown away that something so reasonably priced was so very close. Much like the 808 v2 drum machine Behringer put out it does it justice.

Defacto Funk Octave/808

The simplicity here can become very complex depending on your use of the pedal. I find everything to be backwards, from the inputs/outputs, and the functions of the switches and knobs.
Everything does the opposite of what i though it would do and in a very good way.
Sounds great no matter where it's placed in chains. And to think...you spent 300 on a pog2 but still seek that 8-bit sound. A booster and EQ afterwards, really bring out that bass only switch. Leaves bruises.

yessssss

Octave gold. but set your expectations for some good glitchiness, this is not a harmonizer, this is analog

Amazing!

This pedal is exactly the sound I've been searching for for years!! This paired with my envelope filter is a recipe for nonstop rump thumping funk! Get this pedal and you will not regret!! Great build quality, beautiful look. It's a big pedal which I love but I know that's a turn off for some people but trust me it's big for a reason to match the big big sounds you'll get out of this thing!!

This turns your bass into an 808!

I needed a sub-octave for my P-bass that was simple to dial in, sounded like a key bass, didn't use digital (mis)tracking, and wasn't an insanely-priced reissue. This ticks all the boxes: I keep the Mix and Tone off, the Ringer on, and the Stabilizer off, and I can bounce between a buzzy thick octave that pairs well with dirt and chorus, and legitimately the easiest 808 sound I've been able to summon from a rig.

Only complaints are it's not polyphonic due to its analog nature (which I'm fine with for what I get out of it!) and the Stabilizer function seems to make tracking less accurate as it tries to guess what note you're playing. It's also an unassumingly large pedal, about 1.5x the size of my OC-3 (3 rails of a Pedaltrain board tall, if that helps), so make sure you have extra room on your board and enough juice for it to run.

Hoping Behringer makes more so y'all can get a taste; truly a hidden gem in their lineup!
