Fits into case nicely

The only reason why I bought this is to fit everything all into my case for transportation. The stand itself is kind of at an awkward height for me, so as soon as it came I gave it some TLC with an angle grinder (I strongly suggest you do the same). The legs do bend slightly after use so they don't satisfyingly screw in as they did the first time, but I don't think this impedes the actual performance of the stand. set up time for me is at most 3 min, unlike my previous z stand which is 30 sec. oh, did I mention that this stand is just a tad bit expensive?

Nice and Sturdy

I've used both the Z and X style keyboard stands for my other keyboards, but after making the inve$tment in the Nord Stage 2, I wanted to ensure it was on a nice sturdy/stable stand and this seemed the best choice. I had read other reviews stating that it wasn't as quick and easy to set up as other stands. Well... that's true. An X stand just requires that you unfold it and sit the keyboard on it. However, I haven't used any other stand as stable as this one. I plan to leave the brackets on the bottom semi-permanently so I'll just have to connect/unconnect the legs and the cross brackets. Going that route, no tools are required. it may take an extra minute or so, but it's well worth the effort. i've always been a little nervous about knocking my keyboard off the stand on a tight stage when moving around. I worry a lot less with with this one. I highly recommend it even with the longer setup time.

Perfect - Like the Fender Rhodes

Anybody old enough to have owned and played on a Fender Rhodes (like me) will immediately recognize these legs as featuring the same, reliable tech as that classic (and heavy) electric piano used. The Rhodes had steel legs - the Nord's are aluminum. The Rhodes cross braces also were steel and attached to the piano with one knob; the Nord braces are aluminum and attach with two knobs. I loved my Rhodes then and I love my Nord now. The leg design worked great on both. Some people complain about the height. Not a problem. My Nord key tops are exactly 28 3/4" from the floor. If that's too high for you then you must have problems with many pianos. E.g., the key tops on my Yamaha P-515 (on furniture stand) also are 28 3/4" from the floor. Incidentally, I never saw anybody complain about the P-515 stand height. Anyway, the price of the Nord stand is ridiculous, so I took off one star. The Rhodes legs also came in a fitted vinyl bag that was included with the piano. Not the case with Nord - everything is ala carte. Bottom line: pricey, but effective. Light and simple to attach (once you master the tricky "Rhodes angle" when screwing in the legs, that is). No worries about your Nord falling down with these and you'll have TONS of leg room compared to any other stand - the best feature of all!

Nice Design, Awkward Height

This stand positions a Nord 4 HP with the tops of the white keys 33" above the floor, which is an awkward height: too high for sit down playing (28.5-30" is typical) and too low for stand-up playing. I wanted it for sit down, so I pulled off the rubber feet and shortened the lower leg sections by 3" with a bandsaw. With this modification, it is perfect for me. Overall, it is very sturdy with minimal weight but it does take longer to set up (~10 minutes) compared to a folding X-stand. Like all Nord products: premium quality at a premium price.

Solid Stand

The stand does provide good stability for the keyboard. My only complaint is the amount of time it takes to set up. The legs screw into brackets that attach to the bottom of the keyboard. This takes several minutes. Also, the struts for the rear legs don't seem to fit exactly right. It's sometimes a struggle to get them into place. I think such a great keyboard deserves a more user-friendly stand.
