What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Audient Nero

Let me tell you this is by far the best sounding passive unit in its price range and competes with some of the higher-end monitor controllers. This thing sounds AMAZING and doesn't color your sound. If you're wanting something pure and gives you back exactly what you give it, this is it!!!!! I am a mix and mastering engineer and this def helps me make better overall decisions when doing either task. The cable across my desk have always bothered me but for what you get for the

Smooth and Transparent

I've been using the Nero for a couple of weeks. I'm really happy with the purchase.

I'm using it to switch between Yamaha HS8s, Genelec 8010s, and an Avantone MixCube. It's easy to level-match the monitors and it's super smooth switching back and forth.

I also use a Yamaha HS8S subwoofer and the Nero gives you the ability to engage the sub with any of your monitors. I haven't had that level of flexibility before.

Sonically, the Nero is clean and transparent. I've used a Mackie Big Knob which sounds really colored in comparison.

The Nero's headphone outs sound great and are a step up from the Presonus HP4 that I was previously using for cans.

Nothing about the Nero has been disappointing (but I was a little surprised that the sub output is mono only). Other than that, it's everything I was hoping it would be.

Best Monitor I've used to date for small studio

I was going to get the Drawmer for my small studio but after talking with Alan Moon, I opted for this one and am so glad I did. It adds that extra touch of control I need to make the most out of my recording experience.. Thanks for steering me right again, Alan. Best, most knowledgable Rep I've had at Sweetwater over the last 5 years and I've had many reps.. They were all good but glad I wound up with you!!

Surprised and really loving this unit!

I run a full time studio in Nashville, we have had systems for monitoring, and headphones, Talkback, speaker selection, but our main volume control for our monitoring (a Mytek Stereo192DSD's volume control) gave issue and we needed a fix. So We bought this unit after watching a video demonstrating that the pass through of audio Nulls with the unit not in line. So the sound quality should be good, and it is! So now all volume and speaker selection goes through the Nero. But we also decided to use the TB switch on it, since its both momentary and latch, and routed it out a HP out to the Live room system. We also routed a few other things through the unit utilizing the HP outs and their independent input selection. Awesome! So much routing! The is everything I wanted and every day that I use it I enjoy it more and more.

Remove the blanket from your monitors...

This was a spur-of-the-moment purchase after I built a new studio desk...I have been using a Mackie Big Knob Passive (obtained from Sweetwater a few years back) and wasn't unhappy with it, but since I've been upgrading things recently (Yamaha HS5s to Focal Alpha 65s) this was the next logical step...grabbed David Vignola's affiliate link and hit the "go" button after checking reviews and YouTube.

What an immediate difference. I listened to my most recent mix for mixingmadeeasy.net and was confronted with more width, depth, and clarity than I thought was there when I mixed it...I was also granted a completely unnecessary volume bump...I'm not using even half of the features this thing comes with but just the impact it has on what you're hearing coming out of the speakers is enough to justify the expense.
