Compact Anchor for Your Kit’s Pedals

Factor out the hassle of drum rug haulage between gigs with the NanoMat Drum Mat from Gruv Gear and Sweetwater! Offering an incredibly small-footprint solution for keeping your kit’s bass drum and hi-hat pedals in place, you’ll never again have to worry about pesky hardware movement while you play and the ensuing irritation of meticulously resetting your preferred locations. And it’s small enough to fit in your gig bag! It’s all thanks to Gruv Gear’s finely engineered non-slip surface that stands up to par-for-the-course sliding atop slippery surfaces such as tile, wood, concrete, etc. You can say goodbye to kick angle surprises mid-song and uneven beater contact with your batter head! Working best with kick drums at least 20 inches across, the NanoMat Drum Mat ensures that your single- or double-kick pedal setups remain as steady as your backbeat.

Note: This NanoMat Drum Mat is designed for a single-kick drum pedal and an accompanying hi-hat pedal. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have any questions.

  • Dependable playing platforms for your single-kick pedal and hi-hat pedal

  • Compact design fits easily into your gig bag or backpack
  • Well-gripping, non-slip surface stands up to slippery flooring like tile, wood, concrete, and more

Reviews

It Works!
I got this several months ago, and after trying it on the concreted basement floor it went in my Ahead sled pocket. I HATE dragging a big rug around with me, and most of the venues I play have a carpeted stage. Recently I did a big band gig, and when I showed up, the floor was tile. I pulled out my Nano Mat, and this was its trial by fire. There were several drum-feature songs, including some Basie tunes with boisterous drum breaks. I'm happy to report that the Nano Mat did not budge the whole 90 minute performance. I've got my load in/out to a single trip if I don't have to bring a rug with me. With the Nano Mat stowed with my gear I can leave the rug at home.

Works great and easy to carry around. I put it in my cymbal bag.

They must have fixed it!
When this first came out, I was excited. I can carry all my gear on a cart and drag-bag EXCEPT for the stupid rug. Every time I play a new venue, I always try to find out if it was carpeted so I didn't have bring the rug. When the Nanomat came out, I thought "Here's the solution! It can just be kept in the bag, take up no additional room, and be used only if necessary." Then I read the terrible reviews. Frustrated still with the whole carpet things, I thought "the worst that can happen is that I have to return it."

Well, I don't think I'll be returning it. I haven't used it a venue yet, but the two surfaces I tried it on at home - hard engineered wood, and finished polished concrete, yielded ZERO creep. I laid into my bass drum much harder than I ever would on a gig, with zero movement. I deduct a half star, not for the bass drum mat, but for the HH mat. I've got a Tama Classic flat based HH stand I usually use. Because the base is flat, setting the pedal and base on the mat means the legs "teeter." This was easily solved with a rollable bathmat the same size (20x24) as the footprint of the HH, but it was an added expense. With a tripod based HH, though, works perfectly.

To give a full picture, I mostly play jazz in small clubs with an 18" bass drum. Even beating the daylights out of the drum, I couldn't induce creep, but I also didn't lay into it like that all night long. For the way I play, this is definitely the solution.

Doesn't work at all
Great idea - unfortunately it just doesn't work. Slides like crazy, used it one one gig and had to reposition pretty much everty song. Very embarrassing. Check out the video I made to spare you from the same fate.

Buy this if you like your kick drum to slide.
I was fully prepared to love this product. I had really high hopes. There's a lot of buzz going around about this product. But at the end of the day, it's straight up didn't work. I don't know why I thought it would work. The design is so flimsy, there's no way this would work without magic.

I do love the idea of having such a compact drum rug that fits into my hardware case. But at the end of the day, it only allowed my bass drum to slide for my whole entire gig. I put one of my throne legs on the back of the rug to stop it from sliding. But it just caused the T-shaped to become more of a Y shape. It completely hindered me from playing the way I normally do. I DO NOT recommend this product. Sorry Gruv Gear!
