Long-lasting Bass Strings with Punch and Clarity

D'Addario's NYXL Bass Strings aim to deliver exceptional dynamic range and wide harmonic response. Their recipe is NYXL nickel-plated wrap wire around their NY Steel core. The plated string windings have increased magnetic properties that give you higher output and vibrant midrange tone. Bassists at Sweetwater like these strings because the rich harmonic content makes it easy to shape your bass guitar's tone for virtually any style. They also stay in tune very well. Whether you slap and pop or play laid back R&B grooves, you'll be able to find a great tone with D'Addario NYXL Bass Strings.

D'Addario - Making strings for over 300 years

Behind every set of D'Addario strings are over three centuries of fine craftsmanship. The D'Addario family tradition began in the tiny town of Salle, Italy, in 1680, where they made assorted instrument strings for over two hundred years before relocating to New York in 1905. As the modern string-making industry began to develop, the D'Addario family emerged as innovators by designing the winding machine most string makers still use today. And while their techniques have modernized, the pride that goes into each set of strings dates back to the D'Addario family's earliest roots.

D'Addario NYXL45105 Bass Guitar Strings Features:
  • Nickel-plated wrap wire over a steel core for enhanced output and harmonic content

Great Strings!

I love how these strings sound, and I love how they feel. They also seem to last a bit longer than strings I've used previously. Good marks all around, I recommend them.

These are the ONES!! Never write reviews, but wow.

I have tried MANY strings on many basses. These are hands down the best for a pick-style sound on my P Bass. There's a sound I've had in my head for years that I could only get glimpses of here and there, but this is IT!! Cutting but no metallic overtones. Smooth highs, big piano-like bottom. Can't say anything but "Wow". Killer AF!

MY NEW STRING

Next year I will be playing bass for 50 years. Tried many strings over this period of time. I always came back to Rotosound. I like the sound when the strings were new but after about a month the bite and sustain is gone. I was given these strings as a gift and I was blown away. I do not give praise lightly but I can not stop raving about these strings. I am into my 3rd month with a heavy playing schedule and this strings continue there bite and sustain. They continue to stay in tune throughout the gigs.
I have found my new go to string. Sorry Rotosound!

I like 'em!

Clean, crisp tone - a "live" string. Only improvement for me would be to wrap the ends on the tuning machine like other strings do. It makes it easier for me to grab and wind.

String broke less than one week of having them on.

I'm not a very aggressive player and I've never had a bass string break on me before but I had these strings on for 5 days and the D snapped mid playing! I also read a review on the 105-50 gauge that said the same thing.
