A 200-watt Guitar Head That Fits on Your Pedalboard
Weighing in at just two pounds, the Ashdown NEWT manages to pack a full-blown 200-watt guitar amplifier into a pedalboard-friendly format. Fed into a stage cab for full-band monitoring or run into a cab IR loader for direct output to a soundboard — or both simultaneously — the NEWT is the high-headroom floor amp you've been waiting for. Benefit from ample sound-sculpting options, thanks to the NEWT's guitar-centric 3-band EQ and mid-rending Scoop function. And get dependable performance anywhere in the world with the NEWT's auto-switching 110V–240V universal power supply. Thanks to its switchable -10dB pad, extra-hot pickups and drive pedals are no problem for the NEWT guitar head. The NEWT also makes a great practice tool, courtesy of its onboard headphone amp. What's more, the Ashdown NEWT boasts an über-durable aluminum housing, which means added peace of mind before, during, and after the gig.
Note: This device is intended to drive a speaker cabinet and should not be placed in front of an amplifier or pedals.

Output for the stage, output/s for the soundboard
At 200 watts, the Ashdown NEWT packs a ton of stage power. Bear in mind that this is not equivalent to a pair of 100-watt tube heads, but it's still a fair amount of power for club gigs and venue monitoring. What's really cool is that the NEWT gives you not only a locking speakON speaker output for feeding a stage cab, but it also gives you a transformer-isolated XLR direct output for front loading a cab IR loader. Together, these completely eliminate microphones from the equation, which means simpler gigging when you just want to show up, set up, and rock out.
Accommodates extra-hot active pickups and silent practice sessions
No matter which pickups or stomps you deploy, the Ashdown NEWT can accommodate. The secret lies in the NEWT's high-headroom architecture and onboard -10dB pad. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that these functions are able to tame extra-hot signals without breaking a sweat. We also appreciate being able to use the NEWT for silent practice via its built-in headphone amp. All told, this pedalboard-friendly guitar amp head makes a great road companion.
