Double-tracked Tone in a Compact Pedal

Like its full-sized predecessor, the TC Electronic Mimiq Mini Doubler effects pedal puts the stacked sound of your multi-tracked guitar lines onto your pedalboard. With a tap of your toe, the Mimiq Mini Doubler instantly simulates all the intricacies and imperfections that create the massive tones of double-tracked guitars. Controls for Tightness, Dry, and Effect dial the sound in for a tighter sound with more impact, or a bit looser for a more organic feel. Ask any guitarist at Sweetwater, the TC Electronic Mimiq Mini Doubler pedal is a great way to achieve a larger-than-life guitar sound.

TC Electronic Mimiq Mini Doubler Effects Pedal Features:

  • Studio-quality doubler effects pedal
  • Tightness control simulates the feel of 2 separate takes
  • Perfect for creating huge stacked tones for live performance
  • Works equally well with clean and distorted tones
  • True bypass switching

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Exactly what I wanted!

The pedal does exactly what I need it to do. Where I've read others saying that since the mini isn't stereo you are not getting the full effect I'd say their NOT listening! While true it only produces 1 dub it IS doing it's job and doing it well. I even find I'm turning it down to around 2 o'clock on tightness and dry mix between 11-12-1 o'clock. Effect level about 2-3 o'clock. I'm running mono and the sound at these settings ARE BIGGER. I will say that even though in general I've probably owned every type of effect in the world I'm still yet a minimalist. I try to use the least amount of any effect possible but still being "effective" at what they do because it's important to NOT be over done. I find this is best if you want to utilize more than one pedal at the same time and still keep the integrity of your guitars sound. I tried running chorus at my usual setting with the Mimiq set as described and it was over kill in that it began to be over done. I found I had to really cut the controls on the chorus back to be able to use them together and I'll say the end result was impressive. It takes experimentation to find the right levels with pedals mixed together AND to be effective when each are used on their own. I would recommend this pedal to other players and even if you want full blown version. It never hurts to have a spare or to have an auxiliary pedal board for other purposes.

Mimiq mini pedal

I purchased this pedal to get some double tracked sounds for some lead guitar and rhythm parts on a few cover songs - works great! My only concern is that is a bit of a tone suck (volume) suck... I tried a couple of different ways to over come it with both a clean boost (Wampler Tumnus) and even a Wampler buffer in my effects chain - before and after overdrive positions in the chain but it was not satisfactorily remedied. Perhaps someone has a solid reccomendation and or there is a mod kit application out there to cure this ... minor problem or concern??

Subtle stereo separation

This pedal is for creating very subtle differences between two outputs of the same instrument. I run it after the output of a stereo splitter into a second guitar amp, with the effect turned all of the way up and the dry signal turned all of the way down. It's a nice if understated addition, creating more separation. The two amps now feel more side-by-side instead of layered on top of each other, if that makes any sense. I wouldn't buy it for anything other than this or a similar stereo scenario, as the effect most definitely does NOT sound doubled if run into only one amp or another mono output.

Mimic Mini

Very basic, just an extremely short delay. I run it off the line out of 1 amp and into the other with no dry signal in it gives me basically what I wanted. Be nice if it would be capable of doing a slight pitch variance along with the delay. After using it a little while I wish I'd have bought the standard mimic instead of the Mini.
