An 8-channel matrix mixer with onboard DSP, TASCAM’s MX-8A is built to manage audio playback for small- and mid-scale installations such as shops, banquet halls, multipurpose rooms, and restaurants. You get eight zones of control, which allows you to supply multiple mixes to different areas or customize the playback volume in each zone. The robust DSP allows you to independently tailor the sound on both the input and output. You can apply EQs, compression, delay, limiting, and more on each channel. Plus, everything is remote controllable via Ethernet and TASCAM MX Connect software. Meanwhile, eight mic/line combo inputs and eight line output channels give you complete flexibility. Finally, the MX-8A is compatible with external wall controllers (sold separately) and has an RS-232C connector to support serial remote control systems.

Onboard DSP tailors your speaker performance
Sweetwater knows that each zone in a facility is different. That’s why we’re excited about the MX-8A’s full suite of audio processing digital signal processing (DSP) tools. The DSP helps the matrix mixer tailor your sound to perfectly fit any environment. On the input side, you get a compressor, 4-band parametric EQ, auto level, and ducking. The output section includes a flexible 10-band EQ, high and lowpass filters, delays, and a limiter.
Controllable from a computer or smartphone
The MX-8A offers complete remote control via Ethernet. Users can program and control the MX-8A from their laptop or smartphone with one of two software applications. First, TASCAM MX Connect enables uncompromising control over your entire system from configuration to DSP and levels of each channel. But if you need to be more mobile, the TASCAM EZ Connect smartphone app allows you to control various settings, including the source, level, and zone.
