Pedalboard-friendly Power Fuzz Wah

Wish you had room for both a wah and a fuzz on your pedalboard? Then get a Morley 20/20 Power Fuzz Wah and your problem will be solved. This ultra-flexible guitar effect pedal packs Morley’s famous Power Fuzz Wah into a pedal that’s a fraction of the size of the classic-sized model. Its classic wah voicing works equally well for rhythm and leads, while the fuzz comes equipped with Level and Intensity controls, plus a Vintage/Modern switch for maximum sonic versatility. Benefit from whisper-quiet performance, thanks to Morley’s acclaimed electro-optical design, while switch-less operation makes it child's play to activate — just step on the glow-in-the-dark treadle to engage and step off to bypass. What’s more, its premium buffer circuit prevents signal loss and maintains your tone. The Morley 20/20 Power Fuzz Wah pedal features a rugged cold-rolled steel housing, dual LED indicators, and quick-clip battery door.

Morley’s 20/20 series — the start of a new era

Morley’s 20/20 series marks a complete revamping of the company’s line of pedals. The most obvious distinction of these pedals is their size. Unlike many of Morley’s classic beasts, the 20/20 series includes some of the most pedalboard-friendly boxes out there. You also get a premium buffer circuit that safeguards against signal degradation — a must if you’re rocking a long pedal chain. These pedals eschew outmoded gears and potentiometers for Morley’s world-famous optical circuitry, which makes them quiet and near bulletproof. Morley’s 20/20 pedals are so durable, in fact, that the company offers a lifetime warranty on them! All 20/20 pedals feature glow-in-the-dark treadles and LED indicators.

Morley 20/20 Power Fuzz Wah Features:

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Release the Cliff Burton sound!!!!
I put off buying this forever and I'm so happy I finally did. As a bassist I tried forever to emulate the Cliff sound but never could. The Dunlop Cry Baby just wasn't doing it. I had bought it to save money but man I regret not just going straight to the Morley. I can't say how it sounds on guitar but any bass players out there- this is the way to to go. Also another shoutout to the team at Sweetwater. The best customer service out there and just amazing professionalism and fast shipping as always. This how a business should be ran.
Music background: Bass
Amazing
I got fed up with crybabies breaking all the time so I took a chance on Morley and I'm never switching back!
It's very comfortable to play and the sweep is decent. The "fuzz" is ok. I wouldn't use it as your main source of dirt but pushing an already dirty amp would sound great. I slam the fuzz on its modern setting through a Rat pedal and get screaming leads and musical feedback.
Pedal is built like a tank and easily seen in the dark.
Best pedal ever !!! Morley!!!
Love this pedal it does everything I need to get the sound I need when I need it love it would recommend it to anyone!!! Morley fuzz best one yet !!! Highly recommended !!!!

The Fuzz is Back
Since 1966 I have only owned a few EFX devices for my guitar. I sold all my Fuzz Faces and Big Muffs when I became a BLUES PURIST. Is that a thing? Actually, I was psychedelic. Started by playing Hendrix, Cream and Blue Cheer in 1967. But then I bought my Marshall 50W Combo in 1978.

I kept a couple of my wah-wahs but have used the settings on my guitar and amplifier to achieve every sound I've wanted to create in the last 45 years.

But then I decided to start over. Go back to my roots. Buy a new guitar from Sweetwater: PRS 594 Black Gold Burst. I just got the case today. I got a palomino wooden Gator case from Sweetwater. There, I've plugged you twice. I should plug Jack also. Really nice guy. Knows a lot about a lot of stuff. (Very helpful when choosing items.) I haven't bought any music equipment in decades. I just replaced all my guitar chords and mic chords because the rubber was falling off in hunks! Bummer. Those were made by the TECHS at the Village Recorder Studio in the late 1970s.

But I'm back to fuzz! I'm going to start playing Blue Cheer again. Hendrix never came close to the feedback music of Vincebus Eruptum. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment or I'd put my ear plugs in and play BAND VOLUME. That's where you get the feedback.

During the early 1970s I got a brand new Gibson 335, put a double bar whammy on it, new tuning keys... Turned it up and FEEDBACK from the guitar body. Pickup feedback is what I wanted, not an acoustic guitar. I recorded with Kenny Rogers and some other people in the studio. (No feedback at lower volumes.) Then I traded it for a 1957 Rickenbacker 4000 bass and bought a Fender Strat. That's all I've needed until now. (I have a slide guitar. A 1965 Pleasant.)

QUESTION TO READERS OF THIS REVIEW: If I would've kept that Gibson 335 I was going to fill up the body with polyurethane foam. Anyone you know done that?

I plugged in this Morley 20/20 pedal. SMALL!!! I was surprised to have my foot hanging over the top of the pedal. "Hang 10," I thought to myself. (That's a surfer joke.) But then I realized this put my foot in a better leveraging zone for working the pedal--I think. If I can add a comment later, I will.

Mostly, I was excited by the FUZZ. Doesn't seem to be a wide selection of sounds. But then again, Fuzz is a square wave. I like the arrangement of the fuzz off, and having it turn on with the pedal if desired. Cool features.

I look forward to playing with this pedal for the next couple years and truly mastering it with my new PRS 594 guitar. "Hey Jack! Are they done making my guitar yet?"
Music background: I started playing Blue Cheer, Beatles, Stones, Animals, Hendrix on stage in 1966. I became a songwriter after Nixon exiled me to Newfoundland for LSD in 1970.
Overall a good effect
I bought the Power Fuzz wah 20/20 to use for bass, to replace my current Morley MWV + fuzz pedal set up in order to streamline my board.

The first unit that was shipped was brand new in a box but malfunctioning and Sweetwater, with their usual stellar customer service, very quickly shipped me another one.

The replacement unit worked flawlessly. The wah sweep range was good. the treadle resistance was perfect so I can do both a slow filter entrance or a rapid, funky, quack style. The wah volume knob was perfect to adjust any output difference between clean and effected sound or to give the wah sound more presence.

The fuzz, in both modes, went from slightly menacing to full blown swarm of angry bees with proper setting adjustments. It's a good fuzz sound which you can also use by itself without activating the wah. I had no preference between vintage or normal settings. At the high fuzz levels I use, and for a bass, the difference was negligible.

Unfortunately it didn't work as well for my bass as the set up I hoped to replace it with. I lose low end when I activate it and have to EQ it back at the amp, which affects my clean signal.

I tried it on guitar and it works really well ala Hendrix, but I only dabble with skinny strings as a hobby and so I have no reason to keep this otherwise stellar unit. I ended up returning it.

Thank you Brian Loney for taking care of the issue with the first pedal. Sweetwater is always 5 stars.
