Sonorous Low-end Sonics with Style to Spare

A member of Schecter’s Exotic bass guitar line, the Model-T 4 Exotic Black Limba bass is a masterclass in both sonic and visual elegance, with premium tonewoods comprising roasted maple, ebony, and black limba, resulting in an eclectic aural assemblage of rich, deep, and resonant sounds with superlative articulation. Its distinctive electronics array includes P- and J-style MonsterTone pickups, courtesy of Schecter, engineered to evoke clear, thundering low-end tones. Bassists at Sweetwater appreciate the versatile access afforded to its 21 jumbo frets via the satin-finished, Thin “C”-shaped neck, accommodating numerous playstyles with both speed and comfort. Stylish in both looks and sound, the Model-T 4 Exotic Black Limba is a 4-string powerhouse capable of a spectrum of sonic shades.

Exotic foundations and adaptable sound

Luthiers at Schecter don’t take the “Exotic Basses” series name lightly, and this Model-T 4’s tonewood assembly boasts a formidable sonic foundation. Its black limba body anchors its aural profile with harmonically rich tones that are balanced yet mid-focused, not unlike mahogany, though with a dash of greater resonance. A roasted maple neck introduces warmth and brightness throughout every register, boasting tight basses, ample projection, and excellent note-separation. The ebony fingerboard introduces serious sustain, feeling near-endless in its resolve, bolstering voicing with unmatched articulation and immense presence. Together, these tonewoods mean your bass tones are booming, clear, and flexible, perfect for numerous styles with plenty of room to make it your own.

Monster tones, courtesy of Schecter

In order to bring this indelible tonal triumvirate to life, Schecter’s deployed their house-made MonsterTone P- and J-style pickups for this dual-single-coil setup. A MonsterTone-P resides in the neck position, utilizing a Teflon-coated wire harness design with Ceramic 8 magnets in a split configuration. At the bridge, a MonsterTone-J boasts the same magnets with a 3-conductor, Teflon-coated wire harness and a tapped-design array. Per-pickup volume controls and a master tone knob grant you detailed sound-crafting opportunities with exacting precision.

Speed, comfort, and control

Opting for a bolt-on, roasted maple neck wasn’t purely for the sonic benefit of this Model-T 4. Its increased dimensional stability makes it far more resilient to twisting and warping, making this bass ideal for gigging and touring musicians, especially if you’re traveling through changing climate conditions. A Thin “C” neck profile is paired with a 12-inch fingerboard radius to balance lighting speed with flexible comfort, ensuring players of countless styles will be right at home. The Model-T 4’s cutaways and 34-inch scale provide excellent access to the full spectrum of its 21-fret setup, while a Graph Tech XL Black TUSQ nut and string-through Schecter Custom bass bridge ensure your tones are buzz-free, in tune, and ready to roll.

Schecter Model-T 4 Exotic Black Limba Bass Guitar Features:

  • Black limba body evokes mahogany-like, harmonic-rich, mid-focused tones with added resonance that remains balanced throughout the spectrum for a solid sonic foundation
  • Roasted maple neck imparts warms throughout the bass’s aural profile, introducing fantastic note separation and tight basses for a clear, focused tone
  • Ebony fingerboard means ample projection, immense sustain, and unmatched articulation
  • Schecter-made MonterTone pickups provide flexible, powerful tone-shaping options with a straightforward control scheme to seamlessly suit your style
  • Increased dimensional stability of roasted maple neck construction means substantial resistance to twisting and warping over non-roasted maple varieties
  • Thin “C”-shaped neck profile allows for speed and precision across its 12-inch fingerboard radius without compromising comfort or in-hand feel
  • 21 jumbo frets sprawl a 34-inch scale to accommodate a variety of tuning arrangements while emphasizing access to the full spectrum of tonal potential
  • 1.496-inch Graph Tech XL Black TuUSQ nut and Schecter Custom string-through bass bridge mean reliably buzz-free tones with uncompromising presence

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

I FOUND MY BASS!
I've been through so many basses. But the Model T is not only the most attractive bass I own, but has that classic full bodied dark sound. It's a balanced tone. I love it. Between Schecter, Yamaha and Fender, Schecter wins every time on looks and sound and playability for me. Maybe I am biased now, but after all the basses I've been through Schecter is it, and the Model T suits me with it dark textured full body OB Bass sound.
