High-strength Boom Stand for Studio and Stage Applications

The TAMA Iron Works Studio series MS756BK studio boom microphone stand is a complete reinvention of the typical boom stand concept, displaying a host of engineering innovations that set new professional standards. Strong and versatile enough to handle sensitive studio gear, this stand is equally qualified for rugged roadwork. With a steel multi-plate compression tilter, die-cast adjustment collar and thumb nut, and solid-core iron boom and tripod legs, the MS756BK is engineered to perform perfectly for years to come.

Grips with no slips

Abandoning the weak tilter mechanisms used by economy-grade stands, TAMA's Iron Works Studio stand tilters utilize multiple steel compression plates that grip tightly to deliver optimal angle-holding power. Sweetwater engineers laud the stand's sturdy die-cast zinc height-adjustment collar. The boom's die-cast zinc metal thumb nut has a larger, sure-grip design that allows greater leverage for faster, easier setup and tear-down, and its high-quality zinc threads and walls are built to last.

"Iron Works" isn't just marketing jargon

True to its name, the TAMA Iron Works Studio series MS756BK stand features a solid-core telescoping iron boom arm. The arm safely secures your mic exactly where you position it, with oversized knob screws that will lock it in place until you're ready to make a change. Stability is increased and wobble is minimized with a rod stopper made of POM material, which is tougher than the nylon commonly used in economy-grade stands. Plus, the counterweight is removable, which allows lefties to slide the whole boom out and reinsert it from the other side for dominant-hand use and adjustments.

Super-stable tripod base collapses to save space

The tripod base of the TAMA Iron Works Studio series MS756BK stand is wide and stable and features a heavy-duty pivot post for each iron solid-core leg. There is a set screw integrated into the base for changing the stand height, allowing quick adjustments. The MS756BK's bottom-heavy base design, with its solid-core iron legs, provides a super-stable base to support even the heaviest microphones securely. Plus, with the legs folded down and the boom collapsed, the whole stand measures about 40" in length for easy transport.

TAMA Telescoping Boom Stand Features:

  • Optimal for use with drum overhead mics, vocals, and myriad other miking applications
  • Die-cast collar and thumb nut and steel tilter pressure plates tighten securely and are super durable
  • Solid-core telescoping iron boom arm is strong and also reversible for left-hand use
  • Tripod base features iron solid-core legs that provide a stable footing for even the heaviest mics
  • Mic cable clip included for keeping things tidy
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items

Best Mic Stand
I have tried many brands of mic stands and never been completely satisfied for one reason or another. Some are very flimsy, most of the ones I've had either refuse to tighten fully allowing movement while performing which is terribly annoying and others tighten so much that I can't loosen them to make adjustments.
The Tama MS756BK Iron Works Studio Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand is extremely well built. It's very heavy at the base which prevents movement and knock downs. All of the adjustment mechanisms work smoothly making adjusting any part of the stand a breeze.
I'm extremely happy with this product and all of my fellow musician friends are very impressed of the build.

These mic stands are the best I've used. They are very well made and very sturdy.
Perfect Mic Stand
I trust this stand to hold my most expensive, and heavy, microphones. Best mic stand I've ever used.
Last Mic Stand
This is the last mic stand I'll ever buy. Why? Because it is the best and will last forever! I'm so tired of other stands failing in just a few years. How can you even design a mic stand that will eventually fail? I'm no engineer but come on! Luckily, thankfully, one company is not afraid to build something really good and ALWAYS works when you need it.

This replaced another stand I had in the studio that was named after a Greek God. What a joke! My vocalist noticed right away and asked, "Is this a new stand?" Yes, I said, I upgraded you. You could see the euphoria come over him. It's a really nice stand that is obviously in a different league.

The only downside is weight. It is considerably heavier than most other stands.

All my stands are Tama now. Unless the band gets bigger, I'm done buying mic stands.
Music background: Multi-instrumentalist for a cover band.
