KK 14 capsule
The MCM 114’s sound comes courtesy of Neumann’s newly designed KK 14 capsule. This small-diaphragm electret condenser utilizes a confidential 8-layer design for fine-tuned performance. Developed for close-miking, the KK 14 produces sublime results on acoustic instruments of all kinds. It balances the girthy bass response needed to mic double bass and timpani without sacrificing the midrange, or the vivid high-end detail Neumann is known for. And thanks to its low self-noise design and high SPL handling (153dB maximum), the KK 14 capsule will catch every nuance of your performance from pianissimo to fortississimo.
Includes an optimized mounting kit
The MCM 114 isn’t just a microphone; it’s a system designed to make your life easy. You’ll receive a MC 2 microphone mount. The MC 2 clips to your strings below the bridge and the gooseneck rotates and locks in 45-degree steps so it’s never out of place. For optimal sound, clip the MC 2 to the C and A Strings below the bridge. Position the capsule between the fingerboard and body for a supremely natural sound.
